[Bug 17297] Re: Orphan Search
My wishes about Deborphan and Synaptic: - in the filter configuration, "Orphan" is split into "Orphan Libraries" and "Top-level packages"; - the "Orphan libraries" filter exists by default but is hidden while Deborphan is missing; - installing Deborphan unveils this filter. I'm not Joe Mama but I would like to save time in configuring Synaptic and saving space. This is true the dependency tracking feature of Synaptic works quite well, but I require the verbosity of Deborphan in listing all packages not required by any one. My Deborphan is currently listing 70 packages, maybe only one third of them is to remove, but Synaptic don't list them, like "libgsl0" or all "*-dev". -- Orphan Search https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/17297 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 148122] displayconfig hiding real problems
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk (I chose the package I know but this is related to the failsafe X feature.) I just modified my X configuration, restarted, and saw displayconfig-gtk instead of GDM. I switched back to console, stopped GDM, cleaned up the xorg.conf, restarted GDM... still displayconfig-gtk appearing. I was a bit upset because I reverted all my changes and I thought I restored a functional version. I then remembered looking at the Xorg.0.log would be a good idea... I figured out it was moved to Xorg.0.log.old. I read there that there was a simple syntax error in my file, a "EndSction" without the "e". Here is my report: displayconfig-gtk (or the failsafe X) is hiding the error message we had before. I would prefer some dialog window open up above displayconfig-gtk to report *why* the user see this screen. I would then have fixed the error at once. [Bug 189204] [NEW] [hardy] rhythmbox lost support of laptop hotkeys
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I lost track of the time it happened, but within the last couple of weeks. Rhythmbox doesn't react to my laptop hotkeys, wether it has the focus or not. I looked into the keyboard shortcut properties and tried to reassign multimedia shortcuts. [Bug 187991] Re: [hardy] nautilus doesn't show the default application to open a file in the contextual menu
Right, it doesn't happen on the desktop. Yes I use the browser mode. I went into the Nautilus preferences, "Behaviour" tab, I unchecked the "Always open in browse windows" option and refreshed the window. I had the default application back in the contextual menu. When I check back the option, I lose it again. I'm not sure about the labels, I translated them back to English. It reads "Comportement" and "Toujours ouvrir dans des fenêtres de navigation". I left the option checked, I don't want to open a window for each folder I browse. Another behaviour I noticed, when I uncheck the option from an existing Nautilus window, it doesn't open a new window for each folder. Hi François and thank you for your help. Unfortunately, I don't use Ubuntu anymore but Debian Testing. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org Using gutsy and the following packages: openoffice.org 2.2.0-1ubuntu3 myspell-fr 1.4-20 myspell-fr-gut 1:1.0-19 OOo is starting normally but when a (existing or blank) document is open, it displays for one second then OOo crashes: /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libspell680li.so: undefined symbol: _ZN8Hunspell5spellEPKc It happens when myspell-fr or myspell-fr-gut is installed and I open a document in French. I guess OOo is starting spellchecking in background. Removing myspell-fr* or opening a document in English doesn't crash. I wanted to recompile a myspell package from Debian but versions are in sync. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- OOo crashes when myspell-fr-gut is installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117927 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 103714] Re: linux-headers-2.6.20-14: "include/linux/mmc/protocol.h" missing
Thanks for the news Jason. I was worrying the CVS hasn't changed for 3 weeks but you bring good news. -- linux-headers-2.6.20-14: "include/linux/mmc/protocol.h" missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103714 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 121228] Re: [gutsy] segfault retrieving passphrase for WiFi network
The first time I ask to switch to my Wi-Fi network, gnome-keying-manager is asking permission for giving the passphrase to nm-applet: Allow application access to keyring? - The application 'nm-applet' (/usr/bin/nm-applet) wants to access the password for '' in (null). I grant access and nm-applet crashes. Notice the "null" reference in the dialog. It looks like an API/ABI mismatch. -- [gutsy] segfault retrieving passphrase for WiFi network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121228 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 103714] linux-headers-2.6.20-14: "include/linux/mmc/protocol.h" missing
Public bug reported: Hi, Until linux-headers-2.6.20-12 I had the file "include/linux/mmc/protocol.h". I need it to compile the experimental driver sdricohcs (http://sourceforge.net/projects/sdricohcs/). With 2.6.20-13 and 14 I see two new headers "core.h" and "sd.h". But the API changed too much to compile sdricohcs. Oddly enough, looking the kernel gitweb for 2.6.21 and the mmc branch, "protocol.h" is still present and no trace of "core.h" Where these changes come from so I can update the API usage? ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- linux-headers-2.6.20-14: "include/linux/mmc/protocol.h" missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103714 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 68019] Re: Crash in Setting up My Yahoo
I've come back to using My Yahoo and played with it. I was not able to crash Firefox so I'll first try to find a reproducible situation. Thanks for taking care. -- Crash in Setting up My Yahoo https://launchpad.net/bugs/68019 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
