[Bug 440423] Re: jamu.py crashed with MythError in __init__()

2009-10-04 Thread hemal
Yeah, it was an upgrade from Jaunty.

I have moved back to Jaunty now as my infrared remote control stopped
working as well.

I will install Karmic on another partition and then have a look.

[Bug 439876] [NEW] Ubuntu crash after installing nvidia drivers

2009-10-01 Thread hemal
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

After installing nvidia-glx-180 drivers and then rebooting, after 30
seconds or so, the whole system crashes!

Following is what I posted in the forums:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1267673

I have tried all possible drivers, ie nvidia-glx*. I have used envy as
well. The thing is, the system boots, but as soon as you click anything,
the system totally freezes. The ssh freezes too. CAn't even sssh
remotely.

I would really like to use the 3D features.. so any help would be good.

The motherboard is ASUS P5VDC-mX. I have a TV tuner card, a Sound
digital out card installed on the system. WIFI is via a netgear usb
stick and that is working fine.

Any help will be appreciated.

[Bug 439876] Re: Ubuntu crash after installing nvidia drivers

2009-10-02 Thread hemal
Ok, tried couple of other options now.

>From the bois, disabled fast write, changed AGP to 4x
And used the nvidia driver from xorg.conf and still the system crashes as it
loads GDM.

Using nvidia-xconfig, I tried following options, but still the system
crashed.

  nvidia-xconfig --nvagp=2 --no-render-accel --connect-to-acpid

with nvagp, i tried, 0,1 and 2. No go...

Any ideas?

[Bug 1493888] Re: FGLRX incompatible with kernel 4.2

2015-10-25 Thread Hemal
I am too having problems with Ubuntu 15.10 and fglrx on my AMD HD7770
card.

I tried every fglrx package from amd site and from Ubuntu but when
installed, on next boot screen hangs on purple screen

Then I need to reboot in recovery and unintelligible fglrx and default driver
with 1024x768 resolution returns.

Any workaround?

[Bug 1493888] Re: FGLRX incompatible with kernel 4.2

2015-10-25 Thread Hemal
I am new here so just want to know this.

On this bug report, at top , it is stated that 'Fix Released'. But I
cant find any fixed deb files.

I tried all deb files but was not working so I tried as per comment #48
and its working now.

But what does that 'Fix Released' sign means at top. And how can i find
those fixed files.

[Bug 1493888] Re: FGLRX incompatible with kernel 4.2

2015-10-25 Thread Hemal
I can confirm that, the .deb files in comment #48 are working fine with
me on dual monitor.

I am using Ubuntu 15.10, Kernel 4.2, AMD HD7770 and above said FGLRX
files.

This might be the temporary solution.

Please be alerted about official patch release.
