Ok, tried couple of other options now. >From the bois, disabled fast write, changed AGP to 4x And used the nvidia driver from xorg.conf and still the system crashes as it loads GDM.
Using nvidia-xconfig, I tried following options, but still the system crashed. nvidia-xconfig --nvagp=2 --no-render-accel --connect-to-acpid with nvagp, i tried, 0,1 and 2. No go...
