[Bug 293305] Re: Inactive import folder in f-spot

2008-11-03 Thread Florian Heinle
After running f-spot with LC_ALL=C LANG=C f-spot the box is enabled and
it's possible to set the import path, which will then get stored
correctly to gconf (workaround)

Stephane Delcroix wrote a patch against 0.5.0.3, which is attached

[Bug 307591] [NEW] provide synching mechanism over gvfs

2008-12-12 Thread Florian Heinle
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tomboy

Next to current synching mechanisms or replacing those, it would be nice to
have the possibility to synch over gvfs - especially considering that the gvfs
interface for remote filesystem access is way easier to configure (c.f. ports,
etc)

[Bug 570684] [NEW] message indicator not reset in dedicated PM windows

2010-04-27 Thread Florian Heinle
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xchat-indicator

I've set up xchat so that new private message conversations appear in
their own windows and not as tabs. Upon receiving a private message, the
indicator applet icon turns green as expected and when I click it and
select the private conversion in question, it turns grey again.

However, when I receive a private message and the indicator turns green
but I click the conversation window itself rather the indicator applet
icon, the icon stays green and doesn't get reset to its normal state
like it does for e.g. empathy.

[Bug 1733571] [NEW] unable to access kerberized nfs4 shares with keyring ccache

2017-11-21 Thread Florian Heinle
Public bug reported:

# Problem

With default `ipa-client-install` method, users authenticated to
kerberos cannot access kerberized nfs shares from other ipa joined
ubuntu hosts, even though permissions are correct.

# Steps to reproduce

1. Set up FreeIPA server on CentOS 7 per default docs
2. Set up two Ubuntu 16.04 hosts, one `server.domain.tld` one
`client.domain.tld`, join both to FreeIPA
3. Create principals `nfs/server.domain.tld` and `nfs/client.domain.tld`
4. Create user in FreeIPA `testuser`
5. Install `nfs-kernel-server` on `server.domain.tld` and share `/srv/nfs4`:
`/srv/nfs4 *(sec=krb5i,rw,fsid=root,crossmnt,no_subtree_check,root_squash)`,
run `exportfs -rav`
6. Create some files and directories in `/srv/nfs4` owned by `testuser:testuser`
7. Install `nfs-common` on `client.domain.tld` and mount: `mount -t nfs4
server.domain.tld:/ /srv/nfs4`
8. Log in as `testuser` and `kinit testuser` if necessary
9. `cd /srv/nfs4; ls /srv/nfs4; touch /srv/nfs4/some_file`

# Expected result

Changing of working directory to `/srv/nfs4`, listing directory contents
and creating new file

# Actual result

`Permission denied`

# Reason

After quite some time debugging I found that `gssd` in Ubuntu 16.04
cannot read kernel persistent keyrings for kerberos' ccache. Removing
the line `default_ccache_name = KEYRING:persistent:%{uid}` from
`/etc/krb5.conf` solved the issue.

This config file is created by `ipa-client-install` in
`configure_krb5_conf()` after `#configure KEYRING CCACHE if supported`.

[Bug 661640] Re: no sound after resume from suspend [Conexant ID 2c06] PA test tone failed (alsa tone succeeded)

David,

thanks for your reply.
As you may have guessed from the date I opened the bug, that was seven years
ago. I no longer have the machine that was affected by this problem.

However, I do remember the sound working in later Ubuntu versions. So I
guess... fix released?

[Bug 1069561] [NEW] Misleading icon badge on unity launcher

2012-10-21 Thread Florian Heinle
Public bug reported:

Currently, the icon in unity's launcher bar shows a little badge
displaying a number. One might think this indicates a new notification,
for a follow-up comment or new private message.

Also, the icon does not offer any way to react to that percieved
notification, nor does it offer any explanation as to what this badge
means.

is hardly relevant to see at any given time)

[Bug 1069576] [NEW] Parsing of unread count only works in English, original GMail (not e.g. German GApps)

2012-10-21 Thread Florian Heinle
Public bug reported:

The current implementation that parses gmail's html code makes to many
assumptions about what strings are present. As a result, parsing fails
and no unread notifications show when there is unread mail.

As a (1) German user of (2) Google Apps the script fails for me at two
points: First, the string "navigate to" is translated to German in my
GMail, hence cannot be found. Second, my Google Apps domain uses "Foo-
Mail" as a title, hence the button that usually reads GMail (and leads
to a dropbox of Mail, contacts and tasks) reads "Foo-Mail" for me.

I managed to get things working on my machine, patch is included.

[Bug 657125] [NEW] does not depend on skype

2010-10-08 Thread Florian Heinle
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin-skype

When installing pidgin-skype, it didn't install skype (though available
through the partner repo) automatically.

Having copied my ~/.purple folder from a backup, coming from an
installation where I already had skype installed, the plugin would be
active in pidgin's configuration and, thus, try to start `skype`, which
doesn't exist. As a result, pidgin segfaults.

Corresponding debug output:

(01:26:00) account: Connecting to account el_tiax.
(01:26:00) connection: Connecting. gc = 0x908d540
(01:26:00) GLib: GError set over the top of a previous GError or
uninitialized memory.
This indicates a bug in someone's code. You must ensure an error is NULL
before it's set.
The overwriting error message was: Kindprozess »skype« konnte nicht
ausgeführt werden (No such file or directory)
Segmentation fault

The most obvious solution would be to make pidgin-skype depend on skype.

[Bug 558347] Re: Autosave is not working

2010-09-01 Thread Florian Heinle
Hi,

I had a look at the patch trying to understand where the bug was. it
seems that there was a typo in preferences.py that set autosavee instead
of autosave and that would not re-enable autosave after it had been
disabled.

I've taken this part of the patch and commited it to Revision 212 of
trunk. For the other parts of the patch I'll be filing further bug
reports.

Thanks, Tony!
