Public bug reported: Currently, the icon in unity's launcher bar shows a little badge displaying a number. One might think this indicates a new notification, for a follow-up comment or new private message.
Also, the icon does not offer any way to react to that percieved notification, nor does it offer any explanation as to what this badge means. (this number shows the current link karma the user has acquired, which is hardly relevant to see at any given time) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: unity-webapps-reddit 2.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-17.28-generic 3.5.5 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-17-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Oct 22 00:45:04 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Beta i386 (20120404) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: unity-webapps-reddit UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to quantal on 2012-10-21 (0 days ago) ** Affects: unity-webapps-reddit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 quantal running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069561 Title: Misleading icon badge on unity launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-webapps-reddit/+bug/1069561/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
