[Bug 374688] [NEW] Audio Not Working- Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm using an HP Elitebook 6930p, and I used the following workaround in 8.10 [https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/269027/comments/5], but it doesn't solve my sound issues in 9.04 Jaunty. I followed the sound troubleshooting page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting. I got to the point of the ALSA matrix http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Vendor-Intel, and it looks like ICH9 family is not supported (though it worked in 8.10 !) I installed the latest ALSA regardless of "not being supported" from the ALSA page http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/alsa-driver-linuxant_1.0.19.4-1_all.deb. After a reboot, my earphone sound works, by the built-in laptop speakers do not work. My sound setup information is summarized here: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=d2ad430723a060439f6ad2e3b2b4ae776784df91 Ideas are appreciated! Re: [Bug 205583] Re: Firewire DV Camera not detected properlly
Out of the box clean install of 9.04 using kdenlive or kino, the DV capture does not work. j...@htlx:~$ dvgrab raw1394 - failed to get handle: Permission denied. I tried the solution chmod, but it didn't work. ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/20567) Maybe I did it wrong? I typed sudo chmod, and also did it as root. Any ideas? what command line output can I provide? Thanks. On Wed, Apr 29, 2009 at 06:27, Bryan Wu wrote: > Hi guys, > > Did you have chance to try Jaunty? [Bug 205583] Re: Firewire DV Camera not detected properlly
Brian, I'm sorry, but reading my previous post made me realize I might have been ambiguous. To summarize, in WinXP my Sony DV camera transferred video via the included Sony Firewire cable. In Ubuntu 8.10, the same setup, DV camera and Sony Firewire cable, did not work. I found a firewire cable at my parents home that does not have any brand on it, but I suspect it came with an old PCI firewire card, it is only labelled on the ends as IEEE1394. When I upgrade to 9.04, I will test again with both cables and report back. -- Firewire DV Camera not detected properlly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205583 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 487366] [NEW] USB Storage 250GB AutoMounts and UnMounts and then no longer recognized
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: udev Hi, I use the exact same USB port on my computer with two different external USB drives: 1. Western Digital 250GB pocket drive (usb connection only, power is through usb). 2. Seagate 1TB drive w/ external enclosure + power supply connection. The 1TB works perfect everytime I make backups. The 250GB drive is immediately recognized, and then once I browse it's folders it disconnects. I don't see it under gparted, or Places. If I unplug/ plug it in, the problem repeats. It used to work fine with 8.10 and then stopped working correctly with 9.04. I thought it was a file system problem. After a fresh install of 9.10, I reformatted the WD 250gb drive with NTFS and ran chkdsk /f in winxp. It then worked correctly enough for me to copy over 35gb. The next time I wanted to run rsync, it interrupted after <10 seconds, and now it repeatedly doesn't work correctly. I also have a laptop with dual boot 9.10 and winxp and it reads the drive without problems. I use the drive for music at work, and it is constantly being read all day as I listen to music. [Bug 460068] [NEW] Unable to play DVD with Encryption
Public bug reported: Hi, Fresh install of 9.10 beta. I've followed the instructions from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs#Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 (i386, amd64) installed libdvdread4 and ran the command sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh Using Movie Player (as recommended in Synaptic description for libdvdread4), the screen greys out. Using VLC, I get the foolowing output: Playback failure: VLC cannot set the DVD's title. It possibly cannot decrypt the entire disc. Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///dev/sr0'. Check the log for details. I had it working in 9.04 so this would be a regression? [Bug 454677] [NEW] BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at ffff88ffcfd9e258
Public bug reported: I'm not sure if this is a duplicate of another "unable to handle kernel paging request...at address". In case it is different, I've left it separate. I just did a fresh install of karmic 9.10, did all of the updates. What I was doing before the crash: a full backup of my /home drive using rsync (~450 GB). [Bug 1088185] Re: kernel hangs on boot with btrfs
Hi, I had the same issue running Ubuntu 12.10 64bit on a btrfs partition for / and /home.
