Public bug reported: Hi, I'm using an HP Elitebook 6930p, and I used the following workaround in 8.10 [https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/269027/comments/5], but it doesn't solve my sound issues in 9.04 Jaunty.
I followed the sound troubleshooting page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting. I got to the point of the ALSA matrix http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Vendor-Intel, and it looks like ICH9 family is not supported (though it worked in 8.10 !) I installed the latest ALSA regardless of "not being supported" from the ALSA page http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/alsa-driver-linuxant_1.0.19.4-1_all.deb. After a reboot, my earphone sound works, by the built-in laptop speakers do not work. My sound setup information is summarized here: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=d2ad430723a060439f6ad2e3b2b4ae776784df91 Ideas are appreciated!
