I think I just entered a duplicate of this bug.. [Bug 391353] Re: Lotus Notes 8.5 takes 100% CPU on 1 Processor on Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 2 (Karmic)
Bart, A workaround is not a solution esp when the theme in question ships by default with the distribution in 9.10 and 9.04. The underlined problem may be bigger (the problem is actually a problem with New Wave and Eclipse and not Lotus Notes directly). if the underline problem is incompatibility with gtk-rc, then that should be resolved. Since more applications may potentially run on a multi-platform IDE, issues like this should be resolved. Since Lotus Notes ships with a .deb package which was targeted at people using Ubuntu in the Enterprise this should be resolved, or added to the Lotus Notes "Read Me", but again the underline problem with gtk-rc and eclipse should be fixed. If this has to go upstream to the eclipse team then I'll let the developer assigned to this task to determine that. -- Lotus Notes 8.5 takes 100% CPU on 1 Processor on Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 2 (Karmic) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/391353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 391461] Re: Compiz Slow on Karmic w/ NVIDIA and 2.6.30 Kernel
Darren, The same driver, with the same compiz version with a different kernel (2.6.29.x) works without regressions. I boot with 2.6.30 kernel and I get very poor fps on multiple distributions with multiple versions of the driver (minus the beta since I haven't yet tried it) and multiple version of compiz (w and without the NOMAD patches). [Bug 334991] Re: Eclipse takes 100% CPU with "New Wave" theme
I think DSHR is trying to say the issue isn't there anymore (guessing the fix was applied). The underline problem was triggered with Eclipse, which Lotus Notes is built on.. But again, I believe the issue has been resolved according to comment #28 by Dilomo -- Eclipse takes 100% CPU with "New Wave" theme https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/334991 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 427949] Re: Lotus Notes on Karmic Does not Load Properly Unfinished Page Drawing
Bart, I've uploaded the 2.17.1 libraries that work. You can download them here: http://www.benkevan.com/upload/lotus_notes/ Download them into /opt/ibm/lotus/notes (the default lotus notes installation location). This should resolve your issue. -- Lotus Notes on Karmic Does not Load Properly Unfinished Page Drawing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 427949] Re: Lotus Notes on Karmic Does not Load Properly Unfinished Page Drawing
Andy, Are you running KDE? If so, what version? Have you changed your GTK+ theme from a KDE to a GNOME based theme? My guess is that there's an issue around QTCurve theme and the older version of GTK.. My hope is that IBM fixes the issue by 8.5.2 -- Lotus Notes on Karmic Does not Load Properly Unfinished Page Drawing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 427949] Re: Lotus Notes on Karmic Does not Load Properly Unfinished Page Drawing
svji, and others with this issue.. Although I still have the libraries at the following location: http://www.freetechie.com/upload/lotus_notes/ (I'm doing away with the www.benkevan.com for technical stuff soon) I have to say that the issue won't be resolved in Ubuntu, but in Lotus Notes itself. I am happy to announce though, that the issue has been fixed in Lotus Notes 8.5.2 (which I've been lucky enough to be running for a few months in openSUSE and Ubuntu). With that said, it works mostly (I have one issue with HTML emails I am going to try to resolve) in Ubuntu 10.04. I guess what I'm trying to say is, your issues won't be resolved since there's an incompatibility with Lotus Notes 8.5.0 / 8.5.1 and the versions of GTK+ in Ubuntu 9.10+ (maybe 9.04 also, but I haven't verified). Those distributions were not supported distro's for those versions of Lotus Notes (only the LTS version was). So I expect this bug can be closed with a won't / can't fix, since it's really an IBM issue that has already been resolved. -- Lotus Notes on Karmic Does not Load Properly Unfinished Page Drawing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The above "work around" isn't really a fix. It's just using the native 2.17.1 gtk libs for Lotus Notes. But yes, I think it's an acceptable workaround (as opposed to patching GNOME) for this issue until it's resolved by IBM's Lotus Notes Team. Jim, Sadly the Ubuntu bug squashing team decides not to fix the issue. Which is hard to understanding since they do so many downstream changes anyways. The best fix is to either move to openSUSE or Fedora, where both work just fine for me. I've even attached the following patch: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/44591577/meanwhile-status.diff That fixes the issue (I think that was made against early 2.6 versions)..
