[Bug 486539] [NEW] lvresize manual page way to sparse

2009-11-21 Thread Count
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lvm2

when resizing a volume to make it smaller & readonly the manpage was so
sparse I considered it dangerous and didn't resize to exactly what was
needed according to resize2fs -mP, but to a somewhat safer larger size.

it's unclear what the exact interpretation of k, K, g and G is, and
--resizefs is completely undocumented.

I consider this important as lvresize is a dangerous tool that can lead
to data loss.

[Bug 591463] [NEW] LVM / RAID / Crypto should be available on all installation media

2010-06-08 Thread Count
Public bug reported:

When installing I always have to use the "Alternate" CD, just because I
want to use either LVM, or Whole-Disk-Encryption, or both. This
shouldn't be necessary. It is very very annoying (papercut!) to have to
take a different than the default media just because I decide to encrypt
my system or have the partition setup flexible.

[Bug 482860] [NEW] No migration path available from i686 installs to x86_64

2009-11-14 Thread Count
Public bug reported:

When a system was installed using an i386/i686 installation there is no
way to convert it to a x86_64 installation.

There should be.

P.S: maybe it would help if x86_64-arch systems would accept i386-arch
packages, too ...

[Bug 259029] [NEW] masses of attachments make detach-dialog exceed screen size

2008-08-18 Thread Count Zero
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

When receiving an email with enough (obviously depends on screen-res!)
attachments and I want to "detach all" the dialog warning me this can not be
undone does not show up entirely .. on my Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) I can't
move windows higher than the top of the screen, so I can't resize it to see the
buttons either - experience (and a bit of faith) allows me to hit ENTER and
thus proceed - but I think this is a bug worth mentioning/adressing/fixing -
how about a scroll-field for the files.
That could ensure the dialog bits stay visible/reachable and would scale better
for those (admittedly moronic) email-senders that haven't heard of ZIP-et-al ;-)

[Bug 1761492] Re: axel tries to download HTTPS URLs via HTTP (including credentials)

2018-04-06 Thread Andreas 'count' Kotes
Had a look at the code:

[..]
if( set_url[0] == 'f' )

  conn->proto = PROTO_FTP;

  else if( set_url[0] ==
'h' )

  conn->proto = PROTO_HTTP;
[..]

and

[..]
if( conn->proto == PROTO_FTP )

  serv = getservbyname( "ftp", "tcp" );

  else

  serv = getservbyname( "www", "tcp" );

[..]

or, on Darwin:

[..]
if( conn->proto == PROTO_HTTP )

  conn->port = 80;

  else

  conn->port = 21;
[..]

m( m( m(

This was not fixed at all before 2.10.

Ouch.
