[Bug 152865] Re: rt61 pcmcia adapter eject causes system lock

2007-10-24 Thread Christian Lins
Workaround:

rmmod rt61pci
rmmod rt2x00pci
rmmod rt2x00lib

And you can savely eject the network adapter.

[Bug 152865] rt61 pcmcia adapter eject causes system lock

2007-10-15 Thread Christian Lins
Public bug reported:

I use a Conceptronic PCMCIA-WLAN-Adapter with a Ralink RT61 chipset to connect
to wireless networks.
The adapter uses the rt2x00pci driver (if I get it right) and works fairly well
(see other bug reports).

But everytime I manually eject the adapter from its PCMCIA-socket, it causes
the system to lock completely.
If I manually remove the rt2x00pci module, I can savely eject the card.

I've tested the mouse with my Windows and does not work corrently either.
So, I think the mouse is simply defective.

To my knowledge it is unlikely that Ubuntu/Linux has caused this defect,
so please ignore my post above :-)

[Bug 1457464] [NEW] Init fails to start CouchDB after upgrade to Vivid

2015-05-21 Thread Christian Lins
Public bug reported:

After upgrading my system to Ubuntu Vivid the CouchDB process is no
longer automatically started by the init-System (systemd).

In fact a manual start of the service via

does not really start the CouchDB daemon. Perhaps it crashes
immediately.

The log file /var/log/couchdb/couch.log is empty.

works fine.

The program 'Banshee' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
  (Details: serial 547 error_code 10 request_code 152 minor_code 1)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[Bug 315820] Re: mkvinfo-gui launches text version.

2011-10-11 Thread Christian Lins
The menu entry of mkvinfo should either point to "mkvinfo --gui" or the entry
should be removed from the start menu.
The current behaviour (doing nothing visible) is highly confusing for an
unexperienced user.

[Bug 936841] Re: Calculation error on ARM platform

2012-02-23 Thread Christian Lins
No, Seti@home is not working either now.
I checked both executables with ldd, they both require libboinc.so.6 and
libboinc_api.so.6 which are not present on my system nor in any precise (but in
oneiric "boinc-dev") package (if I used the package search correctly...).

[Bug 936841] [NEW] Calculation error on ARM platform

2012-02-20 Thread Christian Lins
Public bug reported:

On my Tegra2-based Netbook (Toshiba AC100) the calculation of
Milkyway@home work units always fails with the following error message
on BOINC stderr (Ubuntu 11.10):

I'll believe this is not a general BOINC problem on that platform as
Seti@home works fine.

I've tested your arduino-* packages, Scott. Works fine for me, thanks.

Additionally, I've created a pull request for the patch at the upstream arduino
project, see https://github.com/arduino/Arduino/pull/42
Perhaps they pull it eventually...

[Bug 128357] Re: boinc does not idle with mouse movement

2011-04-19 Thread Christian Lins
Please note that the latest upstream patch for this issue requires special
buildparameters (--with-xss or something) which links the binary agains libxss
(X screen saver idle detection).
AFAIK this is not done in Debian because they don't want a command line client
depending on a X library (a system without GUI does not suffer from this issue
though). A solution to this would be to deliver a special "boinc" binary with
the boinc-manager package.

[Bug 796176] [NEW] liblastfm-dev should depend on libqt4-dev

2011-06-12 Thread Christian Lins
Public bug reported:

If one includes "lastfm.h" in a C/C++ program, compiling the program
fails, e.g.:

cc -c -Wall src/CoScrobbler.cpp -o src/CoScrobbler.o
In file included from /usr/include/lastfm/Artist:23:0,
 from /usr/include/lastfm/Album:23,
 from /usr/include/lastfm/Track:23,
 from /usr/include/lastfm.h:1,
 from src/CoScrobbler.cpp:1:
/usr/include/lastfm/global.h:31:20: fatal error: QtGlobal: Datei oder
Verzeichnis nicht gefunden

The required Qt header "QtGlobal" (there are more) is in package
libqt4-dev, so I suggest to add libqt4-dev as dependency for liblastfm-
dev.

[Bug 842955] [NEW] [oneric] Kernel oops when using rt2800usb

2011-09-06 Thread Christian Lins
Public bug reported:

When using the rt2800usb module provided by linux-image-3.0.0-10-generic
on an RT2770 device the system hangs after a few minutes when
transmitting a lot of data via wifi.

The system log shows kernel oopses, see kern.log.

With a self-compiled linux-3.1-rc4 the problem does not occur.
