[Bug 148316] [6.06.1] netboot installer fails when using local cdrom-based repository
Public bug reported: I have been trying to setup a local network installer using PXE and netboot. The PXE functions and the netboot installer loads fine. [Bug 127798] file roller can't recognize second of duplicate files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: file-roller I have seen this issue in Feisty and previous releases. Here are steps that should re-create the issue: navigate to any web site offering a tar.gz or similar archive. select "open with..." and open with file-roller navigate through the file archive (optional) close the window select the file from the web again select "open with..." and open with file-roller archive is not able to open reason I've found: when a file is taken and opened vs saving to disk it is put into /tmp/file.tar.gz. If the same file is selected from the web and opened using the same method the file is called /tmp/file.tar.gz.1. can file roller check for the existence of the same file in /tmp when using the open with option? Would that be a feature/option to integrate at the browser level or file-roller level? [Bug 124779] virtualbox locks machine if kvm or kqemu modules are loaded
Public bug reported: I don't know if this should be reported under kvm, qemu or virtualbox so I'll leave it generic for now. In testing virtualization options on my C2D (macbook) I have tried kvm, qemu and virtualbox. I found that if the kvm modules are still loaded into memory (ie; kvm, kvm-intel or even the kqemu module) that virtualbox will lock the machine. The only solution here is to hard power-down the box and bring it back up again. I can duplicate this issue by simply inserting one of those three modules (modprobe kvm, kvm- intel or kqemu) and then starting virtualbox. Once I click "start" on the virtualbox VM the machine locks. When launching a virtualbox VM without any of those modules loaded the system works fine. Any other info needed please let me know. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- virtualbox locks machine if kvm or kqemu modules are loaded https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124779 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 139661] [tribe 5] aptitude ncurses interface refers to su vs sudo in status bar notes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: aptitude running the aptitude ncurses interface and selecting the "Become root" option from the menu (ctrl-t for the menu listings) displays: "run su to become root; this will restart the program, but your settings will be preserved." actually selecting that option presents the "[sudo] enter your password" prompt however. This application and selection functions as expected, but the reference to su seems non-standard in a mainly sudo-based environment. ** Affects: aptitude (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [tribe 5] aptitude ncurses interface refers to su vs sudo in status bar notes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139661 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 140037] [gutsy tribe 5] upstart readme outdated (edgy)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: upstart this "bug" is a bit obscure, but worth reporting either way. within the /usr/share/doc/upstart/README.Debian.gz part of the documentation says: "How do I change the default runlevel?" ..."if you installed edgy fresh..." Seems that the documentation is outdated from the edgy release. It appears that the function is sound, but the documentation simply refers to a previous release. ** Affects: upstart (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [gutsy tribe 5] upstart readme outdated (edgy) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140037 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 140540] Re: [Gutsy update] Gnome application font sizes too small to read
some problem here after updating this morning (Sept 18). [Bug 134315] clean.sh not executable by default [apt-mirror]
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apt-mirror After running the apt-mirror command to reproduce a local repository mirror the application gave a message that the clean.sh could be run to clean and remove any unneeded packages: "618.7 MiB in 306 files and 19 directories can be freed. [Bug 134564] [tribe 5] setting and removing the "name" field in the partitioner causes the installer (alternate) to lock
Public bug reported: Running the alternate-amd64 installer. [Bug 134284] Re: The X intel driver is not functioning correctly
update: the installer cleanly finishes itself and ejects the CD. From previous experience knowing that it is asking to press ENTER I did. [Bug 134565] [tribe 5] The installation CD does not contain full support for your language? (english-us dvorak)
Public bug reported: This may not in fact be a bug but I thought I'd report it for verification. I am installing my machine using the Tribe 5 alternate- amd64 installer. During the install software section I got notification of the following: "The installation Cd does not contain full support for your language. Do you want to download the required packages from the Internet now? This includes spell-checking, dictionaries, and translations for various applications. If you do not want to download this now, you may start the Language Selector after installation to install complete support for your language" I am using US English with the Dvorak keyboard layout. I would think such a dominant language would come with full support, or is that presumptious of me? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [tribe 5] The installation CD does not contain full support for your language?
