[Bug 1203534] Re: update-manager crashes when trying to upgrade to 13.10
@brian-murray Yes, it also happens without sudo. [Bug 878028] [NEW] [USB-Audio - UAC3553B, playback] No sound at all
Public bug reported: Bug occured after upgrading to 11.10. Previously, I was able to plug in the usb audio (or turn it on, if it was alredy plugged in) and select it as an output device in the sound settings dialogue (or via pavucontrol). Now, the device only shows up in the hardware list (listed with 1 output), but no longer in the output list. USB audio device is a Philips FW-M567 compact stereo system. If it is any help: apport performed two sound tests. The first one played correctly on the USB audio device, the second one, however, played on the Intel sound card, which is why I hit the "not played back correctly" button. Another interesting fact: It worked yesterday after I upgraded a few packages. I didn't change anything after that. Today I turn on my computer and it's non-functional again. [Bug 628557] Re: UIDs and GIDs should be at or above 1000, not 100.
Workaround: 1. Let PureAdmin create the user and group with ID at around 100. 2. Close PureAdmin. 3. Change user id and group id to something above 1000 (e.g. "usermod ftpuser -u 1020" and "groupmod ftpgroup -g 1021") 4. Edit /root/.pureadminrc: Replace the values for "defaultuid" and "defaultgid" with the new values you just assigned. 5. Run PureAdmin. You should now be able to use the user management in PureAdmin with the correct user id and group id. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/628557 Title: UIDs and GIDs should be at or above 1000, not 100. [Bug 2069545] [NEW] Path to redshift.conf incorrect in AppArmor profile
Public bug reported: The AppArmor profile contained in this package allows read access to a configuration file at `@{HOME}/.config/redshift.conf` (see https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/redshift/tree/data/apparmor/usr.bin.redshift.in?h=applied/ubuntu/devel#n39). However, the correct path would be `@{HOME}/.config/redshift/redshift.conf` (see https://github.com/jonls/redshift?tab=readme-ov-file#how-do-i-setup-a- configuration-file). Note the additional `redshift` subdirectory inside the `.config` directory. With the current profile, putting a config file in the location as specified by Redshift documentation, the file cannot be opened and is therefore ignored by Redshift. A workaround is putting the file in the location specified in the AppArmor profile, as it seems that Redshift is also looking for a file in that location (though not documented). Ideally, the AppArmor profile should be changed to allow access to the config file location as specified in the Redshift documentation. It might also make sense to keep the existing access in the profile to the file in the undocumented location for backwards compatibility. ** Affects: redshift (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2069545 Title: Path to redshift.conf incorrect in AppArmor profile To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/redshift/+bug/2069545/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
