[Bug 279800] Re: GStreamer update (7-Oct-2008, Intrepid) causes Banshee crash

2008-10-22 Thread Casey Greene
I have the same bug -- since there seems to be a fix I've "nominated it
for release." I hope that will bring it to attention so that it can be
fixed before intrepid's release. It makes the release look poor since
banshee is likely widely used.

Thanks, and I hope this was not an incorrect course of action!

[Bug 345671] [NEW] [Dell Inc. Latitude D630] suspend/resume failure

2009-03-19 Thread Casey Greene
Public bug reported:

It looks like the latitude line has similar suspend/resume failures

the problem.

Re: [Bug 119088] Re: NIS is broken since recent feisty updates

2007-09-06 Thread Casey Greene
Is it possible to go back to Edgy at this point? Adding the
+:::s worked for me but if that's not working for you that
may be the quickest and best way to get things working.

---Bug 119088 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote ---
I have returned to school and allowed kubuntu go through all
the updates
(server and client) and still no luck. I checked to see if
/etc/group
and passwd had the necessary +:::'s in them and they do and
the number
of colons is correct. I can still ypcat passwd and see the
users on the
server, but none can log in.

I am desparate as I need these computers to be able to
handle log in for
my students. I do not want to create the accounts on the
workstations.
I would appreciate any assistance at this point.

What would you like me to post at this point. I kind of
feel out of the
loop a bit.

Thanks,
Mike

[Bug 119088] Re: NIS is broken since recent feisty updates

2007-07-16 Thread Casey Greene
I can confirm that we are seeing this same behavior:

"I am getting the list of users from the server just fine. I can ypcat
passwd and I get the list of users from the server. However, none of the
NIS accounts can log in. Only local accounts can login. My other
machines are still using 6.10 and they are working fine. SO I know the
passwords are correct, still cannot log in."

We have been debating between Ubuntu Feisty and FC7 as potential
upgrades from FC5 which is EoL now. Getting this fixed would help our
decision, as we use NIS for the workstations in our lab.

I'd also be willing to provide information if it will help.

$ ypmatch -k barney passwd.byname
barney barney:$1$XXYYZZ:500:500: Barney:/home/barney:/bin/bash

I don't know what you mean by:
'Do your /etc/passwd and /etc/group have the +: entries in them (with an
appropriate number
of colons)?"

in /etc/passwd or /etc/group I don't see any entries that just have
+:

I do see a number of entries with a : delimited format, but none for
barney (one of the users from NIS).

Local accounts work as expected I should add (my account is local) and I
do see it in /etc/passwd and listed as a member of some groups in
/etc/groups.

If you let me know of what exactly you mean by +: I can tell you if
I can see it.

[Bug 539771] Re: Latest stable upstream version is 2.26

I am able to replicate this bug:

:~/dot_test$ dot -T png tPA_plot.dot -o tPA_plot.png
Error: lost c d edge

I can verify that the resulting .png file (uploaded) is missing edge c d

I can work-around this issue by installing the debs from the graphviz site:

but this is inconvenient. A new graphviz version would be great.

[Bug 936276] Re: pptp crashed with SIGSEGV

2012-02-21 Thread Casey Greene
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 205684 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205684

I can't figure out how to access the bug to see if mine is a duplicate.
Attemping to access bug #205684 just gives me a 404 error. Is this
duplicate report in error?

[Bug 563862] Re: When logging on power manager fails

2010-07-04 Thread Casey Greene
It seems to matter for me what CD is in the drive. I can trigger it on
every boot with one CD (Civilization 4). I am unable to trigger it on
boot with Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. I have not tried others.

(It would seem that I am on a Sid Meier game kick).

[Bug 563862] Re: Connected Ipod(?) causes g-p-m to fail

2010-09-01 Thread Casey Greene
I can confirm that I do not have an ipod or iphone, but I do get this
error with certain CDs in the drive (as described above). It is
reproducible with the given CD and does not occur without it. I don't
think the name/summary should be changed unless we are looking at a
number of separate bugs here (in which case new bugs should be filed to
cover the specific circumstances).
