Re: [Bug 113383] Re: Feisty: TGIF saves zero byte XPM images
Hello Daniel, thanks for the feedback. I haven't installed 8.10 yet, but I'm looking forward to. At this time I cannot test. Regards! Hello Philip, honestly, I haven't used TGIF in a long while now. I'm sure I will use it again, though, and will try then. Cheers! You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? I am unable to reproduce this in karmic with tgif 1:4.1.45-2. [Bug 113383] Feisty: TGIF saves zero byte XPM images
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tgif My latest update with adept caused tgif no longer being able to "print" (export) bitmap images such as XPM or (with the help of the netpbm package) GIF, PNG or JPG. The saved images have always a size of zero bytes. It worked fine before I did the update on Sunday May 6th. I'm using Kubuntu. Since I had to reinstall my system after this observation (my own fault, but I had a backup of my personal files), and the behaviour persists, I am pretty sure that something happened during the update. I could prove that by testing BEFORE doing a full update (I had to load down tgif and netpbm, though), and AFTER a full update. Saving bitmaps worked before, but not after... ** Affects: tgif (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Feisty: TGIF saves zero byte XPM images https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113383 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 113383] Recommend to close: Feisty: TGIF saves zero byte XPM images
Well, I have to withdraw this one. It turns out that the observed behavior has nothing to do with the Ubuntu update procedure. The problem occurs if I don't save my tgif files in my home folder /home/mydir. If I use any subdirectory like /home/mydir/whathaveyou/whatever/, then the export does not work. I will have to figure out whether that's a bug in tgif or my setup. Since this happens on a freshly installed system, I guess it is a bug in tgif. Sorry!
