[Bug 184120] nvidia-glx-new/apache2/alsa conflict
Public bug reported: I'm not sure that my problem depends of alsa-driver but it's a sound problem. My sound card works perferctly after a fresh install. If I install nvidia-glx-new the troubles begin : - no more system sounds - amarok play but there is no sound - same thing for vlc, mplayer, firefox - rhythmbox play the music slowly with a lot of statics - totem works perfectly - sound tests in Sound Preferences work perfectly Problems disappears when I install nvidia-glx... and they are back if I install apache2. Configuration : - ubuntu gutsy - sound card : Trust, 514DX 5.1 Sound Expert Optical - CPU : AMD X2 4200+ - video card : nvidia 7800GS - MB : Asus A8v Deluxe lspci : 00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. [Bug 95145] Re: ATI 9600 onboard: restricted-manager says "your hardware does not need any restricted drivers"
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 92854 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/92854 Same problem with my ATI FireGL v5200 which needs fglrx. I try to install linux-restricted-modules and it's not better. I have also install fglrx with synaptics and reconfigure xserver-xorg but X didn't load. R-M works for my wifi driver. My Hardy is from scratch and up-to-date. -- ATI 9600 onboard: restricted-manager says "your hardware does not need any restricted drivers" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95145 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
