[Bug 194964] Re: Update ps3pf-utils to version 2.2.0
Here is what I think on this (Dan please correct if I'm wrong)... - We now have an up-to-date ps3-utils package from Debian (automatically sync'ed) - We are currently keeping our outdated ps3pf-utils The goal is to replace ps3pf-utils with ps3-utils. To achieve this, we need to: - update ps3-utils to mark it as "Replace"ing ps3pf-utils (debian/control file) - update ps3-kboot to make it depend on ps3-utils rather than ps3pf-utils I will try to cook some debdiffs to do that, but I must warn that I am almost completely new with regards to deb packaging :). -- Update ps3pf-utils to version 2.2.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194964 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 200338] Re: no sound hardy kernel 2.6.24-12
@Leo: May I suggest the following? - Authorize the hardy-proposed channel and install the 2.6.24.20 kernel and the related 2.6.24.20 modules. It will create a new module directory for this kernel (differnent from the .19 one). If your problem comes from something gone wrong when upgrading gutsy to hardy, this may solve your problem. OR - Download the Hardy Live CD, and boot on it to see if you get sound. If it does, a clean install is your best shot. [Bug 275492] Re: monsterz.py crashed with error in blit()
I spent some time on it tonight (first time at reading python :(). It seems that at two points in the codebase, a pygame surface cannot be blit because the surface is still locked (there is an unlock() before the blit, but it seems to fail). Those two points are the copyright surface (this is the one that makes the game fail early), and the timeframe surface. After some mindless trial and error, the problem appears to be related to the use of "enumerate" in for loops (it seems to keep some reference on the "alpha" 2D array which itself is linked to the surface). Because of the remaining link, the unlock() fails. I have a local change that replaces "enumerate" by "range" in some for loops, and it seems to correct the problem (I could start and play several games with pygame 1.8.1). I will try to come up with a debdiff and maybe even a version in a PPA (Christmas vacation may make this more difficult). -- monsterz.py crashed with error in blit() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275492 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 357980] Re: PS3: Handle swap on ps3vram automatically on boot
The attached debdiff works for me, with a few shortcomings - it doesn't mount this swap during one of the normal swap activations. Doing otherwise would require to do the mkswap very early in the scripts - it hardcodes priority 10, regardless of the "pri" value set in /etc/fstab. It should be possible to parse the options, and extract the value of pri to pass it in the swapon line, but I'm not sure it is really worth it - on boot (on a PS3), the message "/dev/ps3vram Device or resource is busy" will appear... I couldn't find a way to hide it (tried the trick done on swapon in mountall.sh, with no improvement). [Bug 252652] Re: fgetty
So the "normal" getty is still used to enable 6 ttys (in jaunty beta). The setting resides in the inittabs file in sysvutils. This file is then processed by a perl script from upstart, and the getty configuration ends up in /etc/event.d/tttyX Now, I don't think it is possible to make sysvinit use elements (fgetty) from universe. Even if that was possible, the switch to fgetty would have to be global (all arches at once) as configuration specific inittabs files are more the exception than the norm. -- fgetty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252652 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 351059] [NEW] Mouse wheel of Logitech LX710 doesn't work on powerpc
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hal I own a Logitech LX710 mouse - keyboard combo. Its mouse works fine on my laptop (i386), but the mouse wheel doesn't work on my PS3 (powerpc). I used the hotkeys troubleshooting page of the wiki to find the root cause of the problem, and it seems to be a problem in hal. Using the hal-find-by-capability command, I found that the "input.x11_driver" value is different on the two machines: - on i386, "input.x11_driver" is "evdev" - on powerpc, "input.x11_driver" is "synatpics" Thanks. [Bug 351059] Re: Mouse wheel of Logitech LX710 doesn't work on powerpc
The input.x11_driver value is set by a fdi file, based on reported capabilities. On the laptop, the capabilites for the mouse are : info.capabilities = {'input', 'input.keys', 'input.mouse', 'button', 'access_control'} (string list) Whereas on the PS3, the capabilities are : info.capabilities = {'input', 'input.keypad', 'input.keys', 'input.mouse', 'input.touchpad', 'button', 'access_control'} (string list) There is an extra "input.keypad" and another extra "input.touchpad".
