[Bug 268201] [NEW] Please sync pybackpack 0.5.5-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2008-09-09 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pybackpack

This is a new upstream (me) bug fix release which fixes the following bugs in
launchpad:
Bug #126663,
Bug #213117,
Bug #219583,
Bug #224825,
Bug #230371.

Upstream changelog diff since 0.5.4:

New in v0.5.5 (08/09/2008)
--
+ Fix TypeError in on_overwrite_dialog_response()
+ Fix TypeError in on_treeview_backup_sets_cursor_changed()
+ Fix OSError in rmtree()
+ Fix AttributeError in do_ssh_backup() (bug #64)
+ Add Czech translation by Kamil Páral
+ Fix parts of GUI where text was being obscured

There were no build system or install system changes and pybackpack
offers no APIs which would have changed.

Debian changelog additions since 0.5.4-1:

 pybackpack (0.5.5-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * New upstream release
   * Update Standards-Version to 3.8.0.
 - No package changes needed.

 -- Andy Price <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mon, 08 Sep 2008 14:44:06 +0100

If you do a diffstat for 0.5.5 you will notice that there are a lot of
changes in the .glade files - this was caused by a spaces -> tabs
whitespace transition after glade was upgraded, and very few changes
were actually made to the XML as you can see here:

http://projects.sucs.org/projects/pybackpack/changeset/178 (Huge whitespace
changes)
http://projects.sucs.org/projects/pybackpack/changeset/179 (GUI re-jig)

(No code changes were required after these XML changes as the widgets
were just rearranged)

Thanks,

[Bug 56159] Cannot burn CDs using nautilus in edgy

2006-08-12 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

When trying to burn CDs using the nautilus CD burner in an up-to-date
Edgy, it gives an error and does not burn anything to the CD. The error
does not occur in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Insert a blank CD
2. Open nautilus and drag some files over to the blank CD
3. Browse into the blank CD (CD creator) in nautilus and click on "Write to
disc"
4. Select the CD drive to use and click on write
5. Watch and wait

Expected results:
1. The nautilus CD burner creates/prepares the CD image
2. The CD image is written to the blank CD

Actual results:
1. The nautilus CD burner creates/prepares the CD image (as expected)
2. An error dialog pops up saying there was an error writing to CD. It doesn't
give any detail about the nature of the error.

Output of "dmesg | grep CD":
[ 27.537152] hdc: LITE-ON LTR-48125S, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
[ 28.022047] hdc: ATAPI 48X CD-ROM CD-R/RW drive, 2048kB Cache, UDMA(33)
[ 28.022056] Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.20

More info:
- After seeing this bug occur I rebooted into Ubuntu 6.06 on the same machine
and tried writing the same file to CD using the same method and it worked.

- I've been working on a program in python using nautilusburn which is
coming up with inexplicable errors at the same point as nautilus-cd-
burner on edgy. This leads me to suspect the problem is in a library
that both the nautilusburn python library and nautilus-cd-burner share.

- When the CD image is being created, the "time left" in the progress
bar is reported wrongly (looks like it adds an hour on). This is
probably unrelated and I might open another bug for this.

[Bug 56187] python-osd doesn't set up symlinks to modules on install

2006-08-12 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

I installed python-osd and python couldn't find the pyosd module when i
tried to import it.

Further digging showed that the pyosd modules were installed to

symlink them from /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/pyosd/ although that
directory is created but empty.

[Bug 58682] Re: Consistent Crash on Specific Pages in Edgy

2006-09-02 Thread Andy Price
Thanks for your bug report. I'm having difficulty reproducing it on
edgy. Are you using any plugins which might be causing the problem
(browse to "about:plugins")?

Also, if you start galeon from a terminal does it give any information
about the crash? Do all the pages that cause the crash contain flash
animations or have something else in common? Thanks

[Bug 214978] Re: totem hangs when playing incomplete .ogg second

2008-04-10 Thread Andy Price
I can confirm this on an up-to-date amd64 hardy install. One bit of
detail is missing from the report (for me, anyway): After step 2 the
multi.ogg file plays and stops very soon but totem doesn't seem to think
it has stopped and continues showing the pause button instead of the
play button. After that point, dragging any file - even an empty file -
onto the totem window makes it become unresponsive.

[Bug 127237] Please sync freepops (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2007-07-20 Thread Andy Price

Since the only Ubuntu change was just a rebuild and there's a new
upstream version in Debian, it can be synced. A test build in my gutsy
pbuilder worked fine.

[Bug 96371] Re: [UNMETDEPS] mozart-stdlib has unmet dependencies

2007-07-23 Thread Andy Price
Mozart doesn't build on AMD64 - http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=119583 and the bug has been open for 6 years so I
expect it's more appropriate to remove the AMD64 packages which
necessarily depend on it, if possible, until that bug gets fixed.

[Bug 127397] Re: Merge rt2500 1.1.0-b4-4 from Debian unstable

2007-07-25 Thread Andy Price
Hi Cesare, thanks for your work on this package again. One point about
merges - the changelog should only mention outstanding Ubuntu changes
that are additional to the Debian changes, so if Ubuntu changes are
thrown away they need not be mentioned, (i.e. the changelog should
mention the added .desktop file and the Maintainer: field change).
Thanks.

[Bug 118303] Re: CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IO_TRACE is not enabled preventing blktrace from working

2007-07-27 Thread Andy Price
I'd like to add my (self-centered) "me too" also. I need
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IO_TRACE to be enabled in order to work on my computer
science degree project. Fedora uses this option so I'll be booting into
fedora to avoid the hassle of recompiling the kernel until it's enabled
in Ubuntu. Apologies if my comment is unnecessary noise.

[Bug 129050] Re: ghc library packages all have bad dependencies

2007-07-30 Thread Andy Price
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libghc6-glib-dev: Depends: ghc6 (< 6.6+) but 6.6.1-2 is to be installed.

"apt-cache unmet | grep ghc" is a little primitive but highlights a fair
few ghc6 packages with unmet deps

[Bug 129365] Please sync gcl (universe) from debian unstable (main)

2007-07-30 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gcl

Ubuntu: 2.6.7-33
Debian: 2.6.7-34

The latest Debian version of gcl fixes a "serious" bug which is the
cause of -33 failing to build in Ubuntu. I can confirm that the Debian
version builds successfully in an amd64 gutsy pbuilder.

[Bug 129856] Please sync python-syck from Debian unstable (main)

2007-08-01 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu version: N/A (used to be provided by the syck source package, version
0.55-3.3ubuntu1)
Debian version: 0.61.2-1

I've just filed sync bug #129854 to sync the syck source package. This
no longer provides the python-syck deb so I'm now requesting python-syck
to be pulled into Ubuntu to fill this hole. The python-syck package also
depends on the new version of libsyck0-dev from the new syck package so
please tend to the syck sync request before going ahead with this one. I
can confirm that python-syck builds in gutsy once the libsyck0-dev
package is installed from the new syck package.

Relevant changelog (from syck):

syck (0.55+svn256-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Upgrade to a current upstream svn revision (Closes: #324316, #378440).
  * Remove Python bindings (replacement: PySyck) (Closes: #415217).
  * Switched to PHP5 (Closes: #418308, #359245, #432416)

[Bug 129854] Please sync syck (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2007-08-01 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu: 0.55-3.3ubuntu1
Debian: 0.55+svn256-1

The latest Debian version of syck cures an rc bug and provides a PHP5
module whereas the PHP4 module provided by the syck source package in
Ubuntu had to be removed for obvious reasons. This was the only
significant change in Ubuntu so our changes can be discarded. I can
confirm that the Debian version builds in a gutsy pbuilder.

Please note that the new Debian syck source package no longer provides
the python-syck module as it has been broken out into a separate
package. I'll file a separate sync request for python-syck shortly and
cross-reference.

[Bug 130230] Re: Please sync syck (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2007-08-03 Thread Andy Price
** Summary changed:

- syck 0.55+svn256 fails to build on ia64
+ Please sync syck (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

** Description changed:

- I'm opening this bug to keep track of the progress in fixing the FTBFS

+ Ubuntu: 0.55+svn256-1

- Failure log: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8675916/buildlog_ubuntu-

+ I requested a sync of syck not long ago but that version turned out to
+ fail to build on ia64 (apologies for not checking this first). The
+ latest version in Debian (0.55+svn270-1) fixes the failure:
+
+ syck (0.55+svn270-1) unstable; urgency=medium
+
+* php5-syck: emitter added
+* include config.h in lib/syck.h (Closes: #435772, #435773)
+* prototype CuStringFree and CuSuiteFree in tests/CuTest.h
+
+ The Debian build logs show that it builds on all the arches Ubuntu
+ supports and I can confirm it builds in an i386 gutsy pbuilder.
+
+ Thank you
