[Bug 508918] [NEW] Selective delete from history does not work when select all used

2010-01-17 Thread AD5XJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

To reproduce:
1. view history - all history is selected by default.
2. view past month history.
3. select all using option from edit menu dropdown (eye icon)
4. select delete using option from same menu.

All items in the history for the displayed month are selected. But, none
are deleted no matter how long you wait. There is also no hourglass icon
to indicate any activity is taking place.

2010-02-04 Thread AD5XJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

Graphic images are not rendered correctly on a page where spacing is
0px; The error console does not report errors but rendered page shows
dark lines and spaces between images where 0px is specified. When viewed
in Safari, Ephiphany, or IE8 this is not observed. This appears to be
unique to the Linux version but may be in Windows version as well.

[Bug 474343] [NEW] mplayer fails to play wma stream from akami

2009-11-04 Thread AD5XJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

The mplayer-mozilla plugin has worked on this stream before but now (without
any known update) will not stream audio source. Other wma type video and audio
will display. The browser continues to request a plugin after starting mplayer
and connecting to host.
Re-installation of mplayer and plugin makes no difference.

[Bug 505946] [NEW] history is not sorted correctly

2010-01-11 Thread AD5XJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

When displaying history and the list order is chosen, the list is not
displayed as selected - especially if "most visited" is used. This is
similar to the problem with the "most recent URL" display in the
searchbar dropdown. To repeat, select "last 7 days" as a list, and
choose "sort by Visit Count" from the Sort menu. Items are not in
correct order. In fact I cannot tell what order they are in. It does not
matter if you use the asc or desc rule, they are still not presented
correctly.

[Bug 499231] Re: Most recent URL dropdown not updating

2009-12-29 Thread AD5XJ
I don't think I was completely clear. The history listings do sort in
any order I select. However, I was referring to the most visited URL
list on the address bar - not the history window. I have not found a way
to update the items that appear in the dropdown list on the address bar.
I hope this helps.

[Bug 1064531] [NEW] Progress bar changes from time to time

2012-10-09 Thread AD5XJ
Public bug reported:

While installing software, the progressbar appears to have an approx.
10px border. From time to time (mainly when switching back from other
windows) the progressbar displays the 1px border correctly.

This minor cosmetic bug appears randomly and I have not narrowed the
scope more than stated.

Environment:
Ubuntu 12.10 beta 2 (32 bit) quantal updated today
Kernel 3.5.0-17-generic
GNOME 3.6.0

AMD Athlon 64 +3800
nVidia GeForce 6150 (nvidia-current)
1 Gb Ram
24 Gb free disk

** Affects: software-center (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

2011-04-04 Thread AD5XJ
My experience has been very similar. I must note however that if you
use the Ubuntu (no effects) login the silly blinking actions of the
desktop and menus do not occur. You can at least see the desktop and
menus properly. Some of the graphics in titlebar and progressbar window
adornment display items do however display artifacts related to this
driver. None of the graphic effects work. In FireFox, and LibreOffice
graphics do not get rendered without artifacts when scrolled.

It is also true that compiz does not use the desktop settings for
resolution and theme (as noted originally) from my previous setup
regardless of theme settings or resolution selected.

What a monumental fubar. There are millions of Intel 8xx machines out
there worldwide. Most have the Dell brand like mine. Exactly what drives
such a decision that excludes so many people. I for one will not go out
and purchase compatible equipment. Is Ubuntu "nudging" users into their
idea of what equipment we should use?

[Bug 791435] [NEW] Incorrect Icon on Qt SDK

2011-06-01 Thread AD5XJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: software-center

The Qt SDK is not now and never has been a KDE product - but the KDE
install package symbol is used in the apport install process window.
This is both misleading and incorrect. While KDE is built with Qt is it
not a KDE package. The Nokia Qt logos and images should be used
instead.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04
Package: software-center 4.0.2

[Bug 746934] Re: [i865] GPU lockup (ESR: 0x00000010 PGTBL_ER: 0x00000029 IPEHR: 0x01000000)

2011-04-28 Thread AD5XJ
My hardware is Intel Corporation 82845G Integrated Graphics Controller
and after updating to the xserver-xorg-video-intel-2:2.14.0-4ubuntu7
driver today, much of the same issues exist. All that was fixed it
appears, is the artifacts in menus and window headers and painting
issues in LibreOffice and FireFox.

This driver still will not support the Ubuntu Unity and Ubuntu Classic,
only Ubuntu Classic (No effects). It seems to me since it did support
effects in Ubuntu 9 and 10, this should not be an issue in 11.

[Bug 666396] [NEW] Working application reports IBus not connecting

2010-10-25 Thread AD5XJ
Public bug reported:

After update of available packages, the Qt 4.7.0 libraries were updated.
Attempting to run a working application using Qt, it reports IBus is not
connecting - ibus-daemon not running.

After a LOT of searching, I was able to work around this message. The
Keyboard Input setup utility allowed me to specify an input. When
clicking on apply, the utility started the ibus daemon. Once set up the
error ceased.

Not sure which package to list as the cause as this came directly after a
conical update from the repositories where several packages including Qt was
updated.
There is one other bug listed by a Chinese user about locals but that does not
seem a good fit for this one.

Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick)
Kernel 2.6.35.22-generic
GNOME 2.32.0
Pentium 4 2.8GHz
1Gb Ram
15 Gb Free disk

** Affects: ibus-qt (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
