[Bug 238357] [NEW] "Cannot save Bookmarks" issue with Dolphin
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dolphin I am on Kubuntu "Hardy Heron" (All the latest updates applied). Below is the issue faced: 1. Open Dolphin as a root user from the command line "sudo dolphin" 2. Update dolphin bookmarks and then close dolphin 3. Open dolphin as a normal user 4. Closing dolphin now as a normal user gives the error message "Unable to save bookmarks" in the path to bookmarks.xml The issue is when dolphin is opened as sudo the owner of the bookmarks.xml is changed to root and then when the normal user opens dolphin and closes it, its trying to update the bookmarks.xml and it fails since it doesn't have the required permissions. The solution to the problem is changing the owner of the bookmarks.xml file to the user. ** Affects: dolphin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- "Cannot save Bookmarks" issue with Dolphin https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238357 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
