The only alternative currently is to let network manager handle your
wireless connection. It supports EAP-FAST

[Bug 256548] [NEW] Kubuntu Intrepid - System freezes after some time

2008-08-10 Thread ప్రవీణ్
Public bug reported:

I am on kubuntu intrepid and suddenly from the past couple of days I am
seeing random freezes on my laptop.

The laptop is a Thinkpad T60

Dual core 2.0 GHz and 1 GB RAM.

There are no specific conditions under which I am able to reproduce this. It
happens randomly when browsing, listening to music etc.
I have tried both gnome and kde and the problem occurs while using both.

I can post any relevant logs needed.

[Bug 238357] [NEW] "Cannot save Bookmarks" issue with Dolphin

2008-06-08 Thread ప్రవీణ్
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dolphin

I am on Kubuntu "Hardy Heron" (All the latest updates applied).

Below is the issue faced:

1. Open Dolphin as a root user from the command line "sudo dolphin"
2. Update dolphin bookmarks and then close dolphin
3. Open dolphin as a normal user
4. Closing dolphin now as a normal user gives the error message "Unable to save
bookmarks" in the path to bookmarks.xml

The issue is when dolphin is opened as sudo the owner of the
bookmarks.xml is changed to root and then when the normal user opens
dolphin and closes it, its trying to update the bookmarks.xml and it
fails since it doesn't have the required permissions.

The solution to the problem is changing the owner of the bookmarks.xml
file to the user.

I can confirm the defect on hardy.

The evolution build from the Gutsy used to work fine. After the upgrade
to hardy evolution never connected to exchange server. (Even tried a
delete and fresh configuration)

The error I get is "Could not connect to server. Make sure the URL is
correct and try again."

Even the latest updates as of today didn't solve the issue.

[Bug 109292] login screen - input fields wont come up for a long time

2007-04-23 Thread ప్రవీణ్
Public bug reported:

I am using Kubuntu feisty. Updated to the most recent packages.

When I reboot or logout from the current session I get a blank screen
which doesnt show up any of the login fields (username, password, submit

the login fields show up and I am able to login.

Also sometimes when I logout I dont even see the screen at all. The
screen just hangs showing a blinking cursor at the top left corner.

Hi Jonathan,

I continuously had problems on my system after going through some
updates of feisty.
But yesterday I ran the latest updates and then it seems the problem is
solved.

FYI I did not disable the root login. It worked neverthless. This time
it did not hang on entering the password for Adept and I was able to update.

Hi Jonathan,

Initially I ran adept as a normal user and it hangs.
Later I tried as a root and it worked fine.

In case you doubt its because of the root being enabled I can try
disabling root and running Adept.

I will update the status.

[Bug 93988] Adept Notifier hangs as a normal user

when I login as a normal user Adept Notifier shows that there are
updates. When I click on the system tray icon to update, it asks for the
sudo password. Once I enter the password it hangs there forever.

The same works fine when I login as a root user and do the upgrade.

[Bug 463488] [NEW] Touchpad not enabled on Lenovo T400

2009-10-29 Thread ప్రవీణ్
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

I have recently upgraded to Karmic on my Lenovo T400 and found that the
Touchpad is disabled. (It's running on wubi)

I searched around and found that I have to do the config

Option "SHMConfig" "true"

in my xorg.conf and so I did.

Also I did the below config in /etc/hal/fdi/policy/shmconfig.fdi

True

But even after these configurations the issue is not solved.

Below is the output from Xorg.0.log

prav...@ubuntu:~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep Synaptics
(II) config/hal: Adding input device SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad
(II) Synaptics touchpad driver version 1.1.2
SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad The /dev/input/event* device nodes seem to be missing

(--) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: no supported touchpad found
(EE) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad Unable to query/initialize Synaptics hardware.
(EE) PreInit failed for input device "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad"

Please let me know if I need to collect any other logs.
