[Bug 1668017] [NEW] Large mysql requests broken after security update, null character inserted close to 16MB boundary
Public bug reported: I'm running a web application serving rather big binary blobs from a MariaDB table. After the unattended update (7.0.8-0ubuntu0.16.04.3 to 7.0.15-0ubuntu0.16.04.2), the application would routinely break while trying to fetch a >16Mbyte row from the database server. Requests resulting in a row under 16Mbyte are processed normally, anything above it would return columns in the wrong order, and right around 0xF2 a null-character (0x00) is inserted into the stream (when the resulting file is compared to one served with the version used previously) Rolling back to 7.0.4-7ubuntu2 immediately fixed the issue. I'm pretty sure the problem was introduced somewhere between 7.0.8 and 7.0.15, but I cant find anything relevant in the changelog for those versions. Please let me know what I can do to assist! ** Affects: php7.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1668017 Title: Large mysql requests broken after security update, null character inserted close to 16MB boundary To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php7.0/+bug/1668017/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1668031] [NEW] Network adapter keeps on hanging up
Public bug reported: Every hour or so, I'm unable to access the internet through this laptop. dmesg usually reports errors related to the network adapter, but not always. Disconnecting from the current Wifi network and connecting to another, usually works. Immediately connecting to the original network after that does not cause the problem to reoccur. [Bug 1630347] Re: the lightdm-theme package is practically empty
As the config file previously in the us-lightdm-theme source package is moved to us-default-settings, and us-default-settings is seeded for Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Studio users will not notice anything after us- lightdm-theme is removed during the apt-get dist-upgrade. However, if us-lightdm-theme was manually installed by a user, or another package depended on it (which is not the case here - as it is only the us-meta packages that depend on it), then we would need a dummy us-lightdm-theme package (included in the us-default-settings source package) to force the user over to the new us-default-settings source package. It is very unlikely that anyone would manually install the ubuntustudio- lightdm-theme package on it's own. And in this case, they could just keep using the us-lightdm-theme package as long as they liked (as apt- get dist-upgrade will not ask for it's removal). Therefore, I think the transitional package is a little over the top. But expect a new diff including a dummy package uploaded here later today. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1630347 Title: the lightdm-theme package is practically empty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntustudio-default-settings/+bug/1630347/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1668042] [NEW] [Xenial - 16.04 ]Bonding driver - stack corruption when trying to copy 20 bytes to a sockaddr
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu Xenial with kernel 4.4.0-65, we get kernel Panic after scenario [1]. patch [2] should fix the issue When using an IPoIB bond currently only active-backup mode is a valid use case and this commit strengthens it. Since commit 2ab82852a270 ("net/bonding: Enable bonding to enslave netdevices not supporting set_mac_address()") was introduced till 4.7-rc1, IPoIB didn't support the set_mac_address ndo, and hence the fail over mac policy always applied to IPoIB bonds. With the introduction of commit 492a7e67ff83 ("IB/IPoIB: Allow setting the device address"), that doesn't hold and practically IPoIB bonds are broken as of that. To fix it, lets go to fail over mac if the device doesn't support the ndo OR this is IPoIB device. As a by-product, this commit also prevents a stack corruption which occurred when trying to copy 20 bytes (IPoIB) device address to a sockaddr struct that has only 16 bytes of storage. [Bug 1668049] [NEW] lxd cannot shutdown container
Public bug reported: I found this issue when working with lxd and submitted a ticket there but the lxc people said it was related to systemd, not lxc. The issue is: I have a container running under lxc/lxd. lxc stop of the container does not work whereas if I execute "shutdown now" inside the container it does stop as expected. The associated lxd ticket is here: https://github.com/lxc/lxd/issues/2947 The output of journalctl -a is at the end of this message The syslog of that same run can be found here: http://paste.ubuntu.com/24071244/ and this is the output of ps aux: USERPID %CPU %MEMVSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND root 1 0.0 0.1 37808 4576 ?Ss 11:19 0:00 /sbin/init root 48 0.0 0.0 35276 3004 ?Ss 11:19 0:00 /lib/systemd/systemd-journald root 49 0.0 0.0 41724 1912 ?Ss 11:19 0:00 /lib/systemd/systemd-udevd message+514 0.0 0.0 42900 2460 ?Ss 11:19 0:00 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --system --address=systemd: --nofork --nopidfile --systemd-activation root704 0.0 0.0 18252 2508 ?Ss 11:55 0:00 bash root720 0.0 0.0 34556 1992 ?R+ 11:59 0:00 ps aux Note that this may be timing related. If I stop the container immediately after starting things work. If I stop after a minute or so, the stop will not get through. (even not on a 2nd or 3rd attempt). However if I leave the container for a while then a new lxc stop will terminate the container. (this happened after an hour or so). The issue is reproducible but seems to be dependend on what is running inside the container. container runs ubuntu 16.04 on a 16.04 host. systemd --version says: systemd 229 +PAM +AUDIT +SELINUX +IMA +APPARMOR +SMACK +SYSVINIT +UTMP +LIBCRYPTSETUP +GCRYPT +GNUTLS +ACL +XZ -LZ4 +SECCOMP +BLKID +ELFUTILS +KMOD -IDN lxc sends SIGRTMIN+3 to systemd to stop. [Bug 1563110] Re: No sound on Asus e200ha, intel sst with cx2072x codec
For people "irritated", please take into account that there's no point in complaining here at the moment. There's a driver for this particular hardware in the making from people associated to Conexant. Patches were posted to the alsa devel mailing list on December 2016: http://mailman.alsa-project.org/pipermail/alsa- devel/2016-December/115899.html Unfortunately reviews of the code brought up a number of issues and it looks like there's been little visible progress since then. If/when this makes it to the kernel/alsa upstream, Ubuntu will eventually pick it up. But when no driver is available at all, there's no point in blaming Ubuntu. There's no way they'll be able to dedicate developers to write drivers for every random piece of hardware that's thrown at the PC market. Particularly if detailed hardware technical manuals are not published by the vendor. Hint: Complaining won't help the developer at Conexant either. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1563110 Title: No sound on Asus e200ha, intel sst with cx2072x codec To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/alsa-driver/+bug/1563110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1668024] Re: FTBFS in -proposed
Debian beignet automatically uses the same LLVM version as mesa, to avoid crashing when OpenCL and OpenGL are used together (as LLVM lacks symbol versioning - https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=848368#46 ). Ubuntu -proposed mesa now uses LLVM 4.0, which beignet isn't compatible with (adding the dependency only makes it fail later), so this no longer works. The immediate fix is to disable this mechanism and use LLVM 3.9, as attached. (This will have the above bug if LLVM 4.0 mesa is let out of -proposed, but so would the existing beignet, built with 3.9 before mesa switched.) ** Summary changed: - Please sync beignet 1.3.0-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main) + FTBFS in -proposed ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #848368 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=848368 ** Changed in: beignet (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1668024 Title: FTBFS in -proposed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/beignet/+bug/1668024/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1575053] Re: User data directory should conform to XDG Base Directory Specification
@Zygmunt, understood, users can't customise the location. But surely the location could be a hidden directory? Snaps are supposed to make Ubuntu easier for non-techie users, not harder, and putting this data in a standard directory under $HOME does not pass the grandmother test. If I put snaps on my grandmother's machine, she is going to think there is a virus called snap in her Home directory. Users are going to drive sysadmins mad by accidentally deleting their configs. Why not use .snap if snap's hybrid config data means the usual options (.local/share, .config) are unsuitable? I hope someone will think about this again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575053 Title: User data directory should conform to XDG Base Directory Specification To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1575053/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1664232] Re: [FFe] ukui-indicators
Hi Laney, as jbicha said we host the code on github: https://github.com/ukui/ukui-indicators. Meanwhile, we also have created ukui PPA: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntukylin-members/+archive/ubuntu/ukui. Thanks a lot! ** Description changed: The UKUI Indicators is a small applet to display information from various applications consistently in the panel. The indicator applet exposes Ayatana Indicators in the UKUI Panel. Ayatana Indicators are an initiative by Canonical to provide crisp and clean system and application status indication. They take the form of an icon and associated menu, displayed (usually) in the desktop panel. Existing indicators include the Message Menu, Battery Menu and Sound menu. It forks from mate-indicators, but we rewrited all the codes. It is a part of UKUI desktop environment: Bug #1663477. And It also runs well on Ubuntu Mate. [Bug 1667961] Re: No internet
I know of no other install with this problem nor missing ifconfig. Are you sure you checked the hashes of your ISO and verified the install media? One bit can make some strange problems. [Bug 1668085] [NEW] Can't be open by Devhelp with the user other than root
Public bug reported: Hi. Sorry for bad English :). My Devhelp don't want to open CppReference pages, says that it has "Error opening the requested link.". The situation is the same, as here https://aur.archlinux.org/packages /cppreference-devhelp/ I tried to fix this myself, but after 2 days it seems that i'm at a deadlock. What i know now: 1) All paths are correct, all files are readable, but Devhelp can open files like /usr/share/cppreference/doc/html/en/c.html only when it was done by root. When i try to do this by a regular user - webkit2gtk returns an error code WEBKIT_POLICY_ERROR_FRAME_LOAD_INTERRUPTED_BY_POLICY_CHANGE. Seems that webkit raise this error if it tried to load uri as a page, next it tried to load it as a file, and if all this was unsuccessfull - this error occurs. 2) If i change first line in /usr/share/cppreference/doc/html/en/c.html to something like (as for html5) or any older html4 DOCTYPEs - Devhelp begin to work fine with this file.
