[Bug 1239578] Re: No wireless support for Realtek RTL8192EE [10ec:818b]
I am now trying the latest changes in the troy branch, and experiencing the same behavior as ivanalejandro0. The connection works, but it drops from time to time. Definitely better than previous versions. This is anyway annoying because i cannot have a skype call without interruptions. Regarding the ips option, I think that it is set as zero by default (even if modinfo says the opposite), or at least if I execute: cat /sys/module/rtl8192ee/parameters/ips it returns N, which I suppose to be 0. [Bug 902128] Re: Please transition gtk engines to multiarch
I guess there is no hope for this. Still present in utopic. Installing a gtk 32 bit application on a 64 bit ubuntu system gives tons of warnings about the wrong elf class (ELFCLASS64) for the engine and the applications shows completely unstyled. I see this with the nodoka engine. Furthermore, trying to install the 32 version of the engine causes the 64 bit version of the engine to be uninstalled and viceversa because without multiarch they conflict with each other. Plus there have been tons of duplicates not marked as such, one for each possible engine, at times even leading to a solution. For instance, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk2-engines-qtcurve/+bug/974993 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/902128 Title: Please transition gtk engines to multiarch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk2-engines/+bug/902128/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1364630] Re: init: Error while reading from descriptor: Broken pipe
I'm also having this. It started on 14.04 but has got significantly worse on the upgrade to 14.10 - it is intermittent. It would happen only occasionally on 14.04 but now happens almost all the time on 14.10. I have nVidia graphics but am using nouveau. What's particularly bad about this in my case (Sony VAIO laptop) is that when it happens my ethernet port completely stops working, it's not even detected (doesn't show up in lspci), making my laptop almost useless. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1364630 Title: init: Error while reading from descriptor: Broken pipe To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/upstart/+bug/1364630/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1397285] Re: O2 Micro cardreader [1217:8621] could not read mmc cards
test steps: 1. plugin the transcend mmc which reproduces this bug. 2. plug-out mmc in step 1, plugin the other mmc which does not reproduce this bug. 3. plug-out mmc in step 2, re-plugin the transcend mmc in step 1. result: (tested with kernel 3.13.0-32) the transcend mmc could now be read. [Bug 1429019] [NEW] [FFe] please allow elpa through NEW
Public bug reported: Please allow elpa through NEW. Doing so will allow espresso (5.1+dfsg-3) and cp2k (2.5.1-3) which build-depend on libelpa-dev to build. Aside from minor packaging changes, the only new feature in espresso and cp2k is enabling ELPA support. Elpa (2013.11.008-2) has been in Debian testing since 2014-10-09 and the only bug filed against it so far is the Ubuntu FTBFS bug (#779827) filed by me and fixed in elpa (2013.11.008-2ubuntu1). Changelog entries since the current versions in Ubuntu: espresso (5.1+dfsg-3) unstable; urgency=medium * debian/control (Build-Depends): Added libelpa-dev. * debian/rules (override_dh_auto_configure) New targets, enables ELPA configure flag. * debian/upstream: Moved to debian/upstream/metadata. -- Michael Banck Sat, 11 Oct 2014 17:42:34 +0200 espresso (5.1+dfsg-2) unstable; urgency=medium * debian/rules (SCALAPACK_LIBS): Remove mpich work-around, which now leads to FTBFS errors (Closes: #756796). -- Michael Banck Sun, 14 Sep 2014 23:57:55 +0200 cp2k (2.5.1-3) unstable; urgency=medium * debian/cp2k.links: Fix symlink (Closes: #749558). * debian/upstream: Moved to debian/upstream/metadata. * debian/cp2k-data.install: Added HFX_BASIS, BASIS_ZIJLSTRA and nm12_parameters.xml data files. * debian/control (Build-Depends): Added libelpa-dev. * debian/patches/makeflags.patch: Enable ELPA support. * debian/rules (override_dh_auto_test): Added QS/regtest-gpw-6-4 regtest for ELPA. -- Michael Banck Sat, 11 Oct 2014 16:13:57 +0200 ** Affects: cp2k (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: elpa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: espresso (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: cp2k (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: espresso (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1429019 Title: [FFe] please allow elpa through NEW To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cp2k/+bug/1429019/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I do not know if this is related to the problem but the www-posted solutions don't help in my case: 1: try install nivdia proprietary drivers - the NVIDIA installer did not find a card 2: remove gfxmode $linux_gfxmode from grub Other attempts: I have set my BIOS to video: UEFI first (as recommended by the support team from GIGABYTE) but that did not change anything, either - still booting with intel HD graphics only I have turned off ontel onboard graphics which makes the system to fail booting at all (BIOS reset required to get back) Other observations: The system is not even recognizing the 1920x1080 resolution for intel HD graphics, I have to add it via xrandr. Strangely, when doing so, i get the 1920x1080, but a monitor-error message pops up (this comes from the monitor hardware directly, not from ubuntu) telling me that I am not using a DUAL link DVI cable (which is not true, I do use a DVI-D Dual Link which was perfectly capable of transmitting all high resolutions) - this looks like an intel HD driver issue - but I can clear this error message by pressing a monitor key... [Bug 1427742] Re: mate-menu package needs updating
There is a Shell Command Injection vulnerability in the version of MATE Menu currently residing in the official Ubuntu archive. This issue is described here: * https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1422402 mate-menu 5.6.2 directly addresses the issue above, but as you point out was not released in Ubuntu. Should I change the entry for mate-menu 5.6.2 in the changelog to UNRELEASED? However, after doing a code review I found other exploitable methods in the package management features of MATE Menu. So I started on mate-menu 5.6.3 and the following changes address the other exploitable code. + Removed package management features. + Removed useless imports and dead code. + Refactored some os.system() calls to Pythonic equivalents. Personally, I do not think a Menu should be trying to be a package manager, certainly not one that is exploitable. Before removing those features I consulted with the Ubuntu MATE community here: * https://plus.google.com/103917631499285627130/posts/jkrMzsC3Brs The message was clear, most people didn't know the package management features existed and of those that did know about, they didn't use it. So I took the decision to remove an insecure unused feature rather than fix it. I hope that explains my rationale. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1427742 Title: mate-menu package needs updating To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1427742/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But this fails here as after a fresh installation the sysv- generator didn't run yet, so there is no apache2.service. ** Affects: sysvinit (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Martin Pitt (pitti) Status: New ** Affects: sysvinit (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: sysvinit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: sysvinit (Ubuntu) Milestone: None => ubuntu-15.03 ** Changed in: sysvinit (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Martin Pitt (pitti) ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #768450 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=768450 ** Also affects: sysvinit (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=768450 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1429035 Title: invoke-rc.d doesn't start freshly installed services which only have an init.d script To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sysvinit/+bug/1429035/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 453605] Re: Make default mount umasks less tight
This bug was fixed in the package udisks2 - 2.1.5-1 --- udisks2 (2.1.5-1) experimental; urgency=medium [ Martin Pitt ] * New upstream release: - Drop default [df]mask for VFAT and NTFS (LP: #453605) * Drop our patches, included upstream. * debian/rules: Configure with --enable-fhs-media, to continue mounting in /media instead of /run/media. (Previously done by a Debian patch) * debian/tests/upstream-system: Drop ntfs-3g test dependency; due to a bug in the BLKRRPART ioctl this causes eternal udev and thus mount hangs. (see LP #1398859) * udisks2-inhibit: Don't use mount --move, as it doesn't work under shared mounts (i. e. under systemd). (LP: #1410851) [ Michael Biebl ] * Update Vcs-Browser URL to use cgit and https. -- Martin PittFri, 06 Mar 2015 09:29:30 +0100 ** Changed in: udisks2 (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/453605 Title: Make default mount umasks less tight To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/453605/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1429043] [NEW] libicu48 4.8.1.1-3ubuntu0.3 causes libreoffice 3 calc "format cells" crash
Public bug reported: Since upgrading libicu48 4.8.1.1-3ubuntu0.1 -> 4.8.1.1-3ubuntu0.3 (32 bit version) yesterday, LibreOffice 3 Calc (current on Precise) immediately crashes when you select a cell or cells and go to Menu Format/Cells. The problem can be bypassed by reverting to libicu48 4.8.1.1-3 which is available in aptitude, though this back levels the system and exposes it to the security vulnerabilities fixed in the ubuntu0.3 release. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1429043 Title: libicu48 4.8.1.1-3ubuntu0.3 causes libreoffice 3 calc "format cells" crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1429043/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
