[Bug 1149495] Re: Dash home application icon is different from app-lens icon
Yes. But the workaround is very simple. You just need to replace the “group-apps” SVG with the “lens-nav-app”. For example, on 13.04 Raring you can enter the command: sudo cp /usr/share/unity/6/lens-nav-app.svg /usr/share/icons/unity-icon- theme/places/svg/group-apps.svg After a re-login it will be corrected. For other releases you need to find the correct path to the files to make sure. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1149495 Title: Dash home application icon is different from app-lens icon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1149495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm that the gnome-shell live session is completely broken, pretty much all widget calculations seem off, when the "half" gear is showing. I have no idea where that is coming from, its surely not GNOME. strangely it also appears on the "Try Ubuntu" screen, however doesn't seem to break anything there, although there do appear to be some top panel icons missing. [Bug 1241556] Re: cannot login after upgrade to 13.10
I have the same problem after an upgrade to 13.10. It was quite a challenge to log in in such a short time frame so I guess this can be a real serious issue for slow typing people. I would be more than happy to provide more details to get this issue resolved. Since auto-login may not be an acceptable workaround for everyone I suggest to use the lightdm-gtk-greeter instead: * Use CTRL+F1 to do a console login * sudo apt-get install lightdm-gtk-greeter * sudo cp /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.bak * sudo nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf * Change the greeter-session line to: greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter * Exit (CTRL+X) and safe changes * sudo service lightdm restart * logout (exit or CTRL+D) * Use CTRL+F7 for a graphical login. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241556 Title: cannot login after upgrade to 13.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1241556/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1284535] [NEW] Make IPV6_[RECV]PKTINFO work for IPv4-mapped addresses
Public bug reported: Currently, the Linux kernel doesn't provide IPV6_RECVPKTINFO ancillary data on datagrams coming in from IPv4-mapped clients (e.g., :::192.0.2.1) on INET6 sockets in the default dual personality mode, nor does it honour IPV6_PKTINFO when sending datagrams on such a socket to an IPv4-mapped destination. This means that an UDP application that requires a server to respond with the same address as it was contacted on cannot reliably work for IPv4 clients, because 1) the server has no way of knowing which address it was contacted on, and even if it did, 2) the kernel would ignore requests to use a specific source address. For a real-life manifestation of this problem, see this OpenVPN bug report: https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/ticket/306 This has recently been fixed in the net-next upstream tree with the following commits (the first one of which made the 3.14 merge window, the second one will be in 3.15): https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next.git/commit/?id=4b261c75a99f29c93a0b6babfc180cdf566bd654 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next.git/commit/?id=c8e6ad0829a723a74cd2fea9996a3392d2579a18 Enabling IPv6 is getting increasingly important in these days, but at the same time maintaining backwards compatibility with IPv4-only clients is also essential. I'm therefore requesting a backport of the above two commits to the Ubuntu LTS kernel images so that it becomes possible to use OpenVPN (and any other software packages) in dual-stack mode. [Bug 1192908] Re: Mir/Mesa packaging have a dependency cycle so neither can build
This bugs is still valid. We don't have a problem with at this point, because we have both mir and mesa packages in the archive, so we can build new versions using the existing versions of -dev packages to fulfill dependencies (this needs some care when we make incompatible changes). I think our best way forward is to remove the dependency libegl1-mesa- dev has on libmirclient-dev. It's reasonable to assume that a program that needs to use Mir with EGL will depend on libmirclient-dev itself, or at least mircommon-dev (otherwise how can it know about the MirConnection/Surfaces types it needs to pass to EGL?). I would also recommend changing mesa to build depend on mircommon-dev instead of the full libmirclient-dev, since it only needs the Mir EGL definitions in the former package. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1192908 Title: Mir/Mesa packaging have a dependency cycle so neither can build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1192908/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1283384] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad T420s] regression idle power consumption 7W->12W
I don't get it.. whatever I test the system with, the idle power consumption is roughly 11-12W, even with precise. So maybe the hw broke or something, not a software bug anyway until proven otherwise.. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283384 Title: [Lenovo ThinkPad T420s] regression idle power consumption 7W->12W To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1283384/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
