Similar to "columns search", if you select a specific group of cells ( i.e b4:i25), search is applied on & then search outside, what is not supposed to. Another problem: says you search "710" into a selected area, it also find this number embedded into an other like "20090710", curious, this fonction has no settings to set rules (i.e only this number, or all numbers containing this one, ...) [Bug 404434] Re: I can not disable touchpad through "gnome-mouse-properties"
Hi there. I have *exactly* the opposite problem: I'm using the most up-to-date karmic possible, I have a Dell Latitude D520 and I want to use the touchpad with tapping, but I have not succeded with using "gnome-mouse- properties" or with "gpointing-device-settings". Changing the xorg.conf to have hard-coded settings does not work (it just seems to be read according to the log, but things like, say, the keyboard layout specified there and the dontzap option seem to be ignored completely). Anyway, the only workaround that I found was to use: synclient TapButton1=1 TapButton2=2 TapButton3=3 due to upstream's decision of removing tapping if a touchpad has at least one button (as is documented in the synaptics(4) manpage). [Bug 404765] Re: headphone cannot be used
Solved! Solved! I solve it! I referenced the page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting 1. First, You can check whether your computer has been install build-essential and module-assistant, whether your linux header is updated, whether you has the alsa source. Code: $ sudo apt-get install \ build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r) module-assistant alsa-source 2. Use dpkg-reconfigure to reconfigure alsa-source Code: $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure alsa-source 3. Now you have 2 ways to be access the success. * One is through module-assistant: Code: sudo module-assistant a-i alsa-source * The other is through manually compilation: Code: cd /usr/src sudo tar xjvf alsa-driver.tar.bz2 cd module/alsa-driver sudo ./configure --with-kernel=/usr/src/linux-headers-$(uname -r) \ --with-cards=ALC888 \ --with-oss=yes sudo make sudo make install Quote: Note: "ALC888" in "--with-cards" can be replaced what sound card your computer has. [Bug 403925] Re: jockey-text crashed with OSError in _execute_child()
The same crash occured on my Karmic Alpha 3 32-bit on a Dell Studio: On a ubuntu live boot, I was offered to install the proprietary wifi drivers, which I accepted. I was then asked the root password, where I just pressed (live CD, so I don't know any root password). Then the crash occurred. -- jockey-text crashed with OSError in _execute_child() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403925 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 214402] Re: Page cut after edition
Ubuntu 9.04, PDFEdit 0.4.1 Scanned two A4 pages in GIMP 2.6.6 via XSane (identical pixel size), changed the colour mode to black&white (1 bit) and printed them in GIMP as two PDF files (via Ubuntu standard PDF printer). Opened the first PDF file in PDFEdit, appended the only page of the second PDF document (via Tools > Insert pages from other document). In PDFEdit everything looks ok (both pages have same height and same width). Saved a copy of the edited PDF and opened it in Evince. For no reason the top of the second page is cropped (approx. 2 cm). ** Changed in: pdfedit (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- Page cut after edition https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 404592] Re: Please sync parrot (1.4.0-1) from Debian unstable
If the Ubuntu changes are obsolete in a new version of a package, the package from Debian can be copied without changes (all Ubuntu specific changelog entries and Maintainer changes will be dropped too). So you don't need to attach any diff at all. [Bug 378248] Re: Video editing docs need work
Thanks for the patch Shane. A few comments / questions: You need to rework this sentence a bit: "Most video editors also support video capture here are some". I'd suggest: "Most video editors also support video capture. Examples are:" I don't know whether it is possible to distinguish more between the feature set of the different applications, so the user knows which to try first, but I'll leave that to someone who knows more about the applications. Lastly, do you know anything about whether Cinelerra is worth recommending?
