[digikam] [Bug 448593] new view plugin for digikam
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448593 --- Comment #5 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com --- Hi, No, digiKam team do not package RPMs at all. We provide a generic AppImage Linux bundle, the official MacOS package, and the official Windows installer. In your case AppImage cover all Linux distributions. For the Linux Ubuntu Flatpak, MosiacWall and GmicQt are also included, but this bundle maintenance is delegate to a dedicated team. To have a Fedora support, contact the distribution team to build a rpm for the plugin. It's the standard way. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448593 --- Comment #6 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com --- I take a lok in your plugin source and something is wrong : https://github.com/cathaysia/digikamflowplugin/blob/master/src/PicFlowView.h Your plugin is defined as GENERIC and access directly to the database. It's weird. You must use the DPlugin interface to access to the item metadata. This will work too with Showfoto which do not have at all a database. A generic plugin must work on both application transparently. https://invent.kde.org/graphics/digikam/-/blob/master/core/libs/dplugins/iface/dinfointerface.h All generic plugin for digiKam use DPlugin interface. [digikam] [Bug 448585] REPLACE INTO UniqueHashes blocks all Thumbnail related activities including loading
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448585 --- Comment #11 from Maik Qualmann --- Why should the tables remain empty? As soon as thumbnails are requested, e.g. from the Item View Model and they are not available in the DB, they are created immediately and stored in the DB. Sure. > Plus the shortcuts, the user is forced to remember some random extra > commands, seems to be disappointing. Note that kate is an advanced text editor that comes attached with a learning curve. The user is expected to learn things, explore the docs and UI because there is no way in the world we can make all actions super obvious and easy and demolish the learning curve. > Not everyone can code :( and even if the user can it's time consuming. Scripting was just an example, doesn't mean you need to do it. We introduced the command bar because it is hard to put everything in menus or immediately accessible buttons. There is only so much space and we have users for whom the menus are already overflowing. Explore Kate bugs and you will see bugs about menu too large. > Why can't Kate have lines and text operations grouped in submenu ? It can, sure, but a) we need to know what those operations are b) whether such grouping would make sense for average user --- The reason I closed this bug is because it is not a bug. It seems more like a support issue. Yes, we need to improve but generic high level reports like "menus are bad" or "things are not discoverable" are not very useful. As developers, we look for clear actionable items and usually limit one bug to one request / problem to help us manage things and maintain a record of what happened and why. Hence, I am closing it again. If you have some concrete ideas about improvement that is super welcome. Feel free to open a bug or feature request for every improvement you have in mind. [KXStitch] [Bug 446953] program does not start after install
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446953 --- Comment #3 from bobos...@gmail.com --- Hi, Result of command: qtpaths --install-prefix is: /usr/lib64/qt5 I build kxstitch a few times, so I have now two buid folders. In first folder i install_manifest.txt file I have path: /share/kxmlgui5/kxstitch/kxstitchui.rc and in second build folder I have path: /usr/lib64/qt5/share/kxmlgui5/kxstitch/kxstitchui.rc When I go to those folders and run kxstitch (./kxstitch) in both cases error arrive. I doing this in Centos 7 with kde installed via yum group install command. When I created virtual machine with fedora 35 and I can install and run kxstitch normally, without any error. Can I somehow uninstall kxstitch from the system? Install script was installed it to /usr/bin/ maybe first install from first build folder was wrong and I must uninstall it completely before second attempt. Is there any uninstall script to do this? Or I just need to remove folders: /share/kxmlgui5/kxstitch /usr/lib64/qt5/share/kxmlgui5/kxstitch ? Regards! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 448649] New: Saving a clipboard edit after clearing the history doesn't make a new entry
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448649 Bug ID: 448649 Summary: Saving a clipboard edit after clearing the history doesn't make a new entry Product: plasmashell Version: 5.23.90 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: regression Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Clipboard Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: karlsson.gabr...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 145579 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=145579&action=edit Video of the issue SUMMARY When in edit mode on an entry in the clipboard, it is still possible to clear the clipboard history. Doing so makes whatever edit you've done disappear, even after you've clicked save. When the edit mode was a separate window, saving would generate a new entry with the text instead. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Copy some text to the clipboard 2. Click edit 3. Clear history 4. Save OBSERVED RESULT The saved text is gone with the rest of the clipboard contents EXPECTED RESULT The clipboard contains the last saved entry SOFTWARE OS: KDE neon Testing Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The previous behavior was that saving would add back the edited text to the clipboard, but it's not obvious if that is the right way to solve this. Maybe it shouldn't be possible to clear history while editing, or clearing should kick you out of the editing mode instead. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-plasma] [Bug 448651] New: Vertial Panelbar makes disappear each window at second (external) screen)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448651 Bug ID: 448651 Summary: Vertial Panelbar makes disappear each window at second (external) screen) Product: frameworks-plasma Version: 5.23.0 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: components Assignee: notm...@gmail.com Reporter: s.sut...@gmx.de CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** If you create a panel at your desktop, and place it at the edge between both screens (make no different to which of the screens), each window you move "behind" the panel, will disappear. Of example (# = the vertical placement of the docker-panel) : | screen 1#| screen 2 | (means at the right side of screen 1, screen 2 is right sided to screen 1) | screen 1 |# screen 2 | (means at the left side of screen 1, screen 2 is right sided to screen 1) *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. create 2 screen setup 2. create ***vertical*** docker-panel, put `system-tray` widget to it 3. place the created Docker-Panel `screen 1 right sided`, or `screen 2 - left sided` OBSERVED RESULT 1. If `screen 1 - right sided`, move an open window (e.g. browserwindow) from Screen 1 to screen 2 (it will disappear, and you ar not able to open it in any way!!) 2. Remove the `vertical` docker-panel (the window will come back to screen. 3. This is reproducable all the time. EXPECTED RESULT Windows should work like expected. [plasmashell] [Bug 425315] Auto-started apps with system tray icons don't always show their tray icons after reboot when they launch before plasmashell is finished launching
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425315 Linus Dierheimer changed: What|Removed |Added CC||li...@dierheimer.de --- Comment #37 from Linus Dierheimer --- I have all entries disabled in system tray and use it only for app indicators (e.g. steam, discord, my mail app etc). I set them all to "always hidden", so i only want to see the arrow in my tray. The mentioned apps all have autostart desktop files in ~/.config/autostart, so i expect the arrow to be shown from the beginning. However it is often missing, and only shows up after i manually start an app with an app indicator. After that it works fine, all the applications started with autostart are in it when i open it. Is this the same bug / root cause? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwalletmanager] [Bug 448653] New: KWallet Password dialog window should be a modal window forced to front and with forced focus but it is not, so other windows can grab focus while typing the passwo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448653 Bug ID: 448653 Summary: KWallet Password dialog window should be a modal window forced to front and with forced focus but it is not, so other windows can grab focus while typing the password Product: kwalletmanager Version: 21.12.1 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: va...@kde.org Reporter: mail+...@branleb.de Target Milestone: --- When KWallet access is required by an Application (e.g. after login), the password dialogue is not a modal dialog (meaning the window is not neccessarily forcibly displayed on top off all other windows (see also Bug #436531) and the input focus can switch to other windows without an active user interaction). This leads to a situation, where other applications can grab the input focus while typing a password. Especially during startup/after login this can happen - and should never happen because it's a information security breach. gnome keyring manger gets that and therefore works as expected. kwallet should too. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start KWallet Service 2. Start some Application which requires wallet access 3. Have some other Application opening a new Windows while typing the password OBSERVED RESULT KWallet Password dialogue loses focus, typing goes to other application -> information breach EXPECTED RESULT Input Focus stays on Kwallet dialogue, password gets typed in completely, no information breach SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: not tested macOS: not tested Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION lsb_release -a LSB Version:n/a Distributor ID: openSUSE Description:openSUSE Tumbleweed Release:20220103 Codename: n/a kwalletmanager5 --version kwalletmanager5 21.12.1 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
