Edit the default SEP profile, change FWHM to 1, rmin to 2. Then save and try
again. Is it any better?

[kstars] [Bug 432546] SEP-MultiStar Broken; Loses Track of Guide Star

2021-10-10 Thread Hy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432546

I'd say, bottom line, you need to find the StellarSolver parameters that work
with your guide scope and guide camera. Sometimes getting stellarsolver to work
well can be tricky. (For guide, you only need the star-detection part of
stellarsolver, not the plate-solving part).

You can do this by getting the guider out of the loop, and e.g. doing this with
focus (setting your camera to the guide cam) and then seeing what parameters
you need to set to get stars detected. You may have to edit one of the
profiles, not simply pick a preset one. Once you have those parameters, and can
seem to reliably detect stars, then you copy those back into one of the guide
presets, modified your way.

BTW, send a fits file and I can see if I could find some parameters that work
for you.

Please keep in mind, that the presets profiles are starting points, but you can
edit and improve them for your hardware.

The patch worked perfectly.

Not only did it fix access to GPU acceleration, but also fixed various
graphical glitches specific to Qt's Material theme on AppImage builds. I had no
idea what caused those, but it figures it was related to XCB-GLX, because of
the shaders present in that theme.

Thanks for the fix!

1) No, this doesn't make any sense, where do you pretend to store that
information?

2) Just search on the annotation contents (not sure if optionally or always, i
guess we could add an option)

I think blacklisting something here might be a good idea. However, I think the
most general solution would be to somehow handle the case if the

reason.

There's still a problem in the windows 5.1.2 version with it not detecting that
gpg is installed. I've gone back to 4.8.4 which works.
(gpg also worked in 5.0.6 but online quotes did not work in that version.)

I'm using gpg4win 3.1.16.

SUMMARY
Unicode input and XCompose characters doesn't work.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press Ctrl+Shift+U or XComposeKey(for me it's Right-Alt)
2. Type 0021(for the combination) or 'o' 'c'(for XCompose by default)

OBSERVED RESULT
Just get typed '0021' or oc instead of '!' or ©.

EXPECTED RESULT
Get typed '!'(unicode) or ©(XCompose) sumbols.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've tried to change XComposeKey to different variations, change input methods
into ibus(with download qt library for its) and did the next guide:
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/part-2-how-to-operate-xcompose-with-qt-applications/28730

But this(Unicode and XCompose symbols) still works everywhere and not in Kate.

When opening digikam, I get the following pop-up error:

There are two actions (Open Command Bar, Add Images...) that want to use the
same shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+I). This is most probably a bug. Please report it in
bugs.kde.org

I have not changed myself these shortcuts, so I am assuming this is a mismatch
in the configuration when digikam was upgraded from one version to another.

To complicate things: I just reinstalled docker because of unrelated reasons
and now cannot reproduce the generation of these entries in either mount or
~/.config/kded_device_automounterrc so make of that what you will.

In any case, I think handling the bloating of
~/.config/kded_device_automounterrc would be the better approach. The original
poster of this issue might not have done anything with docker, but their webcam
might have generated loads of entries for some reason.

This bug report is already a multiple duplicate. No, it's not digiKam's fault,
because digiKam has been using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+I to add images
for a long time. The reason is that the developers of a KF5 component (KXMLGui)
have recently started using the keyboard shortcut. So that the guys from the
framework don't use a new keyboard shortcut again, which may then affect other
programs, we have changed the keyboard shortcut. Just set ALT+SHIFT+I

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add the "Individual Core Usage" widget to the panel, when you have 32
logical cores (16 physical with hyperthreading - 5950X)

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing is visible at all for the widget. If I manually remove cores from the
sensors, I can see bars when I get down to 18 cores total. The bars are very
thin and unnecessarily spread out, looks like 8 pixels space in between each
bar.

EXPECTED RESULT
Bars should be visible, and closer together. Ideally it would be configurable
how many pixels thick the bars and spaces were.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 443547] New: Baloo_file_extractor uses all available memory and never finishes running

2021-10-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443547

Bug ID: 443547
Summary: Baloo_file_extractor uses all available memory and
never finishes running
   Product: frameworks-baloo
   Version: 5.86.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Baloo File Daemon

screenshot of system monitor showing high memory usage

SUMMARY
I recently downloaded a backup of my gmail account-- a large .mbox file of
around 2.8GB. After that time I noticed performance stuttering, intermittently
severe and causing the screen and cursor to lock up for a second or two at a
time, and high memory usage-- consuming all 8GB of my laptop's memory even with
no applications running.

System monitor suggests that Baloo_file_extractor is taking up all available
memory at any given time. CPU usage by baloo_file_extractor appears to range
typically between 4-12.5% (Intel i5-8250U (8) @ 3.400GHz) and memory usage
easily greater than 5GB depending on the number of other applications running.
running "balooctl status" gives the following output:

Baloo File Indexer is running
Indexer state: Indexing file content
Indexing: /home/.../All mail Including Spam and Trash-003.mbox
Total files indexed: 28,114
Files waiting for content indexing: 4
Files failed to index: 0
Current size of index is 526.02 MiB

Believing that the large file was taking a while to index and would eventually
finish on its own, I allowed it to run in the background, but after a day and a
half since I initially noticed the issue, it is still running and shows that it
is still stuck on this file. (I would attach it, but sharing a file with all of
my emails in it is a major concern). Restarting the PC appears to have no
effect.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Appears to start from the moment the OS loads
2. Possibly the result of a large .mbox file on my system
3. Suspending and disabling balooctl, then restarting the machine, caused
memory usage to return to normal
4. enabling balooctl again caused baloo_file_extractor to start and take up all
available memory

OBSERVED RESULT
High memory usage and noticeable OS performance issues. Indexer does not finish
after many hours of uptime.

EXPECTED RESULT
No OS stuttering while running in background.

>From the QtQuick applications I've tested, including Dolphin and System
Monitor, it seems to be only the sliding animation that's stuttery, which the
system tray uses when the user switches entries (from WiFi to Bluetooth for
example); as well as Discover (when clicking on categories). The system tray
and Discover remain to be the two elements to have this stutter in Wayland.

Can't reproduce it on KDE Neon 5.22.5 with Frameworks 5.86.0. Perhaps this is
an issue with the emoji font? I haven't changed it from the defaults on Neon
(Noto Emoji). If you're using some other then that may be a cause.

Is this issue still affecting you? If so, are those emojis only missing in the
selector or everywhere on the system, such as if you paste them into a text
editor?

[krita] [Bug 443549] New: Pointer disappears when switching between brushes.

2021-10-10 Thread bhoduklal03
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443549

Bug ID: 443549
Summary: Pointer disappears when switching between brushes.
   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Brush engines
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bhodukla...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The pointer seems to disappear when I switch between brushes using a button
from a tablet. Using the brush fixes it but it appears again and again every
time I switch between an eraser and a brush. It also ended up changing the
brush size somehow and setting the eraser to be a brush as well, the first time
I encountered the bug.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use brush
2. Use pre-defined button to switch between brushes
(Pointer disappears)
3. Use the brush randomly on the canvas
(Pointer reappears in its appropriate size, except for the first time.)

OBSERVED RESULT
Pointer invisible after switching brushes every time, except the first time
when it set the brush to the wrong type and changed brush size.

EXPECTED RESULT
Visible Pointer and unaltered brush size for the primary and secondary brush,
respectively.

3 nlinknumber of (hard) links to the file
4 uid numeric user ID of file's owner
5 gid numeric group ID of file's owner
6 rdev the device identifier (special files only)
7 size total size of file, in bytes
8 atimelast access time in seconds since the epoch
9 mtimelast modify time in seconds since the epoch
10 ctimeinode change time in seconds since the epoch (*)
11 blksize preferred I/O size in bytes for interacting with the
file (may vary from file to file)
12 blocks actual number of system-specific blocks allocated
on disk (often, but not always, 512 bytes each)

The additional option for the info block could look similar to "ls -lh":
Stats: hugo:users rw-r--r-- 20.01.2008 12.3M
or
File-Info: ...
This would show the fields 4:5, 2, 9 and 7 in human readable form.

I added this to the Viewer Component as the implementation there seems to be
more straight forward than in Browser or Thumbnail View. The selection dialog
for the info to be shown is already there.

This is a "nice to have" item :-)

[Akonadi] [Bug 427319] less contacts in kaddressbook "my contacts" than in google contacts "contacts"

2021-10-10 Thread Philippe ROUBACH
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427319

I created again the google groupware. I get the google calendar, but the
contacts are not populated

More I get a problem in kmail with my gmail account authentication (unreadable
password). I used it for several months. i get the problem just after using in
"advanced" tab the "automatically detect the connection settings". I solved the
problem by using "plain" and enabling "less security" feature in my google
account as recommended by Daniel Vràtil.

Today I wonder if the problem with google contacts sync is an authentication
problem like Daniel Vràtil wrote about here
https://www.dvratil.cz/2019/08/kontact-google-integration-issue/

another hypothesis :

I deleted all Google mail groups excepted "others" for several years. This
troubles lbkgapi.

[systemsettings] [Bug 443553] New: Content of connections KCM doesn't fit in the window by default

2021-10-10 Thread Gabriel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443553

Bug ID: 443553
Summary: Content of connections KCM doesn't fit in the window
by default
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.23.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_networkmanagement
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: karlsson.gabr...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 142301
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=142301&action=edit
Screenshot with the default settings window size

SUMMARY
By default, the content of the connections settings will not fit in the window
area, but instead be cut of to the right.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open System Settings
2. Resize the window to the smallest size (as it is by default)
3. Navigate to the Connections KCM

OBSERVED RESULT
The content is too wide and gets cut off to the right

EXPECTED RESULT
The content scales to fit entirely within the window

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
OS: KDE neon Testing Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Compared to other KCMs, the padding seems wider. The network list also doesn't
scale. I would guess that addressing those two could help solve the issue.

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 443554] New: Switch audio channels in video viewer or select video viewer per settings

2021-10-10 Thread Andreas Schleth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443554

Bug ID: 443554

viewer per settings
   Product: kphotoalbum
   Version: GIT master
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Viewer
  Assignee: kpab...@willden.org
  Reporter: schleth...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

At the moment I only rarely use the integrated viewer for video as the controls
are quite limited yet.

However, I recently "found" the audio control on the right end of the progress
bar and the RMB menu for selecting all sorts of info or actions. Progress!!

I would like to switch audio channels in videos either by selecting from a list
or by switching through the available channels (next ... next ... next ...
first ... next ...)

I understand that this would involve quite a bit of programming... Jesper said,
it would be like re-implementing vlc (or parts of it).

Would it then be possible and maybe easier, if the "viewer" for video playback
could be selected as an external program directly (via the settings dialog)? As
a shortcut for "RMB ... open with ... vlc" (or whatever your preferred video
player is).

[KCommandBar] Show information about a command in a tooltip

This MR adds support for displaying tooltips for commands, which displays its
full name (group and command name), as well as its shortcuts. This is useful
when the full command name is very long or it has a lot of shortcuts.

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 443556] New: Audio control in video playback with strange behaviour

2021-10-10 Thread Andreas Schleth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443556

Bug ID: 443556
Summary: Audio control in video playback with strange behaviour
   Product: kphotoalbum
   Version: GIT master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Viewer
  Assignee: kpab...@willden.org
  Reporter: schleth...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The audio level control still has some strange behaviour (is this work in
progress?):

a) The % shown usually does not change with the slider position.
I have seen it standing at 0% or 100% or 648% (I am not making this up!),
independently of the slider position.

b) After mute, the audio stays mute after un-muting. I have to touch the slider
a bit to turn the sound back on.

At the moment I use the phonon backend with v5.8.1-21-g7f709159 and phonon
itself set to vlc-backend via phononsettings.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE & OBSERVED RESULT

for a) I have not yet found a causality for the different numbers displayed,
only that the percentage never changes when pulling the slider.

for b):
1. play video
2. set audio level to some value (maybe full)
3. mute via the button
4. unmute via the button
5. nothing to be heard
6. shift the audio level slider a bit
7. sound comes back.

EXPECTED RESULT
in a)
percentage should reflect slider position and show values between 0 and 100%

in b)
5. should be 7.

[plasmashell] [Bug 443557] New: Expanding the sidebar of the emoji selector makes the title text overlap with other elements

2021-10-10 Thread Gabriel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443557

Bug ID: 443557
Summary: Expanding the sidebar of the emoji selector makes the
title text overlap with other elements
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.22.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor

 Component: Emoji Selector

  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 142303

Screenshot showing the overlap between Recent and Clear history

SUMMARY
When expanding the sidebar of the emoji selector, the title text will move
accordingly. In the cases where there is something there it will cause an
overlap. "Recent" overlaps with "Clear history" (see screenshot) and "Search"
gets partially pushed under the search field.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the emoji selector
2. Resize to the minimum width (as it is by default)
3. Click the sidebar button in the bottom left corner

OBSERVED RESULT
"Recent" overlaps with "Clear history", "Search" is overlapped by the search
field

EXPECTED RESULT
No text will overlap with other elements

SOFTWARE
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Either the sidebar could be made narrower, or the minimum width of the Emoji
selector could be increased (however, that might still cause the problem in
other languages). Those are just suggestions :^)

[krita] [Bug 443559] New: Crash with a 'repaired' corrupted .kra file

2021-10-10 Thread Ahab Greybeard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443559

Bug ID: 443559
Summary: Crash with a 'repaired' corrupted .kra file
   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: * Unknown
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ahab.greybe...@hotmail.co.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
A user had a corrupted .kra file after Command+S saving, then there was a
crash.
The .kra file and its backup file could not be opened with the error message:
"The file does not exist. Could not find root"

More details here:
https://krita-artists.org/t/help-krita-could-not-open-file-reason-the-file-doesnt-exist-could-not-find-root/30120/

A repair attempt, using ZipRepair gives a 'recovered' file that will crash the
4.4.8, 5.0.0-beta2 and the Oct 09 5.1.0-prealpha (git 45ea106) appimages on
Debian 10 MATE.

The backup .kra file (renamed from Altha.kra~) and its 'recovered' form are
attached.

When opened with the Oct 10 5.1.0-prealpha (git 45ea10672d) portable .zip
running on Windows 10, there is no crash but it can't be opened with the error
message:
"The file format cannot be parsed
Parsing error in root at line 31, column 28
Error message: unexpected character"

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Altha-backup.kra
2. Use ZipRepair in an attempt to repair/recover it.
3. Open recovered-Altha-backup.kra

OBSERVED RESULT
1. It can't be opened. "The file does not exist. Could not find root"
2. ZipRepair reports much repairing.
3. Instant crash.
There was no relevant log entry apart from
"KRITA DID NOT CLOSE CORRECTLY"
The Terminal said "Segmentation fault".

EXPECTED RESULT
3. Error message - No Crash

[plasmashell] [Bug 443560] New: Increase minimum height of the emoji selector to account for when the sidebar is open

2021-10-10 Thread Gabriel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443560

Bug ID: 443560
Summary: Increase minimum height of the emoji selector to
account for when the sidebar is open
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.22.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Emoji Selector
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: karlsson.gabr...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 142307
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=142307&action=edit
Screenshot of the issue

SUMMARY
The minimum height of the emoji selector is set to fit the sidebar when closed.
However, when it is opened, the title "Categories" appears, which results in
less space for the sidebar options. In the case of having the default height of
the window, that adds a scroll bar and partially hides some options.
(I'm also unable to scroll there unless I grab and drag the scroll bar, but I
figure that it's not an issue if it's set to never appear anyways.)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the emoji selector
2. Resize to the minimum height
3. Click the sidebar button in the bottom left corner

OBSERVED RESULT
The title "Categories" appears, which reduces the area for the options in the
sidebar and adds a scroll bar

EXPECTED RESULT
There is enough space that the "Categories" title doesn't hide options

SOFTWARE
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I think increasing the minimum height just slightly would be enough to fix
this.
(Somewhat unrelated, but it would be useful with a tooltip for the expand
sidebar button. I'm not sure if that warrants its own ticket.)

[kwin] [Bug 440751] Opened windows are not getting drawn when 'Show Desktop' is abused in a loop

2021-10-10 Thread Vlad Zahorodnii
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440751

I think I found the culprit of this bug. The garbage collector seems to prefer
to keep "null or undefined" qobject wrappers in MemoryManager::sweep()
https://code.woboq.org/qt5/qtdeclarative/src/qml/memory/qv4mm.cpp.html#983

if (MultiplyWrappedQObjectMap *multiplyWrappedQObjects =
engine->m_multiplyWrappedQObjects) {
for (MultiplyWrappedQObjectMap::Iterator it =
multiplyWrappedQObjects->begin(); it != multiplyWrappedQObjects->end();) {
if (!it.value().isNullOrUndefined())
it = multiplyWrappedQObjects->erase(it);
else
++it;
}
}

That looks very sketchy. If `!it.value().isNullOrUndefined()` is changed to
`it.value().isNullOrUndefined()`, tainted qobject wrappers don't get destroyed.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443561

Bug ID: 443561
Summary: Still image clips cannot be given a longer duration
than the established default.
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: q...@arachnoid.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Still image clips cannot be extended beyond their default durations. If I
choose a default duration, the clip cannot be made longer in the timeline. If I
deliberately choose a much longer default duration and start over, in many
cases the clip cannot be inserted into the timeline.

This problem applies to Kdenlive version 21.08 as well as the most recent
nightly at the time of this report (version 21.11.70).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Choose a duration in the Kdenlive setup dialog.
2. Load a still image clip.
3. Try to extend the clip beyond the default value automatically assigned.

OBSERVED RESULT

The clip cannot be extended past the system-defined default duration. It can be
given a shorter duration but not longer.

EXPECTED RESULT

In prior versions, an inserted clip could be given a longer or shorter duration
(independent of the default duration) in the timeline editor.

offset between it and the cursor, which makes it impossible to draw. Please
look into this matter(this problem doesn't happen when using my souse)

Has this fix been merged and released?

I still have this issue under Android 11 and KDE Connect 1.17.0.

Not sure if this a new bug or still the same...

Ok, my latest comments is that kioslave5 was related to a partition problem, so
i tried to unmount the problematic partition , couldnot, checked filesystem on
that partition , found some errors, then i remembered transfering a folder
named popcorn time that since then the problems started to occur, it contained
malware messing with the hard, i deleted that folder, regained 1gb the problem
was gone, maybe SMART can detect that error in future...

Thanks all, resolved.
