[kstars] [Bug 432546] SEP-MultiStar Broken; Loses Track of Guide Star
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432546 --- Comment #16 from Hy --- I'd say, bottom line, you need to find the StellarSolver parameters that work with your guide scope and guide camera. Sometimes getting stellarsolver to work well can be tricky. (For guide, you only need the star-detection part of stellarsolver, not the plate-solving part). You can do this by getting the guider out of the loop, and e.g. doing this with focus (setting your camera to the guide cam) and then seeing what parameters you need to set to get stars detected. You may have to edit one of the profiles, not simply pick a preset one. Once you have those parameters, and can seem to reliably detect stars, then you copy those back into one of the guide presets, modified your way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432546 --- Comment #17 from Hy --- BTW, send a fits file and I can see if I could find some parameters that work for you. Please keep in mind, that the presets profiles are starting points, but you can edit and improve them for your hardware. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Craft] [Bug 443416] AppImage deployments lack OpenGL acceleration due to xcbglintegrations missing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443416 Javier O. Cordero Pérez (Cuperino) changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |RESOLVED Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |FIXED --- Comment #2 from Javier O. The patch worked perfectly. Not only did it fix access to GPU acceleration, but also fixed various graphical glitches specific to Qt's Material theme on AppImage builds. I had no idea what caused those, but it figures it was related to XCB-GLX, because of the shaders present in that theme. No, it's not digiKam's fault, because digiKam has been using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+I to add images for a long time. The reason is that the developers of a KF5 component (KXMLGui) have recently started using the keyboard shortcut. CPU usage by baloo_file_extractor appears to range typically between 4-12.5% (Intel i5-8250U (8) @ 3.400GHz) and memory usage easily greater than 5GB depending on the number of other applications running. running "balooctl status" gives the following output: Baloo File Indexer is running Indexer state: Indexing file content Indexing: /home/.../All mail Including Spam and Trash-003.mbox Total files indexed: 28,114 Files waiting for content indexing: 4 Files failed to index: 0 Current size of index is 526.02 MiB Believing that the large file was taking a while to index and would eventually finish on its own, I allowed it to run in the background, but after a day and a half since I initially noticed the issue, it is still running and shows that it is still stuck on this file. (I would attach it, but sharing a file with all of my emails in it is a major concern). Restarting the PC appears to have no effect. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Appears to start from the moment the OS loads 2. Possibly the result of a large .mbox file on my system 3. Suspending and disabling balooctl, then restarting the machine, caused memory usage to return to normal 4. enabling balooctl again caused baloo_file_extractor to start and take up all available memory OBSERVED RESULT High memory usage and noticeable OS performance issues. Indexer does not finish after many hours of uptime. EXPECTED RESULT No OS stuttering while running in background. In the cases where there is something there it will cause an overlap. "Recent" overlaps with "Clear history" (see screenshot) and "Search" gets partially pushed under the search field. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open the emoji selector 2. Resize to the minimum width (as it is by default) 3. Click the sidebar button in the bottom left corner OBSERVED RESULT "Recent" overlaps with "Clear history", "Search" is overlapped by the search field EXPECTED RESULT No text will overlap with other elements SOFTWARE KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Either the sidebar could be made narrower, or the minimum width of the Emoji selector could be increased (however, that might still cause the problem in other languages). [krita] [Bug 443559] New: Crash with a 'repaired' corrupted .kra file
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443559 Bug ID: 443559 Summary: Crash with a 'repaired' corrupted .kra file Product: krita Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!) Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: * Unknown Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: ahab.greybe...@hotmail.co.uk Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY A user had a corrupted .kra file after Command+S saving, then there was a crash. The .kra file and its backup file could not be opened with the error message: "The file does not exist. Could not find root" More details here: https://krita-artists.org/t/help-krita-could-not-open-file-reason-the-file-doesnt-exist-could-not-find-root/30120/ A repair attempt, using ZipRepair gives a 'recovered' file that will crash the 4.4.8, 5.0.0-beta2 and the Oct 09 5.1.0-prealpha (git 45ea106) appimages on Debian 10 MATE. The backup .kra file (renamed from Altha.kra~) and its 'recovered' form are attached. When opened with the Oct 10 5.1.0-prealpha (git 45ea10672d) portable .zip running on Windows 10, there is no crash but it can't be opened with the error message: "The file format cannot be parsed Parsing error in root at line 31, column 28 Error message: unexpected character" STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Altha-backup.kra 2. Use ZipRepair in an attempt to repair/recover it. 3. Open recovered-Altha-backup.kra OBSERVED RESULT 1. It can't be opened. "The file does not exist. Could not find root" 2. ZipRepair reports much repairing. 3. Instant crash. There was no relevant log entry apart from "KRITA DID NOT CLOSE CORRECTLY" The Terminal said "Segmentation fault". EXPECTED RESULT 3. [plasmashell] [Bug 443560] New: Increase minimum height of the emoji selector to account for when the sidebar is open
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443560 Bug ID: 443560 Summary: Increase minimum height of the emoji selector to account for when the sidebar is open Product: plasmashell Version: 5.22.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Emoji Selector Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: karlsson.gabr...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 142307 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=142307&action=edit Screenshot of the issue SUMMARY The minimum height of the emoji selector is set to fit the sidebar when closed. However, when it is opened, the title "Categories" appears, which results in less space for the sidebar options. In the case of having the default height of the window, that adds a scroll bar and partially hides some options. (I'm also unable to scroll there unless I grab and drag the scroll bar, but I figure that it's not an issue if it's set to never appear anyways.) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open the emoji selector 2. Resize to the minimum height 3. Click the sidebar button in the bottom left corner OBSERVED RESULT The title "Categories" appears, which reduces the area for the options in the sidebar and adds a scroll bar EXPECTED RESULT There is enough space that the "Categories" title doesn't hide options SOFTWARE KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I think increasing the minimum height just slightly would be enough to fix this. (Somewhat unrelated, but it would be useful with a tooltip for the expand sidebar button. I'm not sure if that warrants its own ticket.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 440751] Opened windows are not getting drawn when 'Show Desktop' is abused in a loop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440751 --- Comment #11 from Vlad Zahorodnii --- I think I found the culprit of this bug. The garbage collector seems to prefer to keep "null or undefined" qobject wrappers in MemoryManager::sweep() https://code.woboq.org/qt5/qtdeclarative/src/qml/memory/qv4mm.cpp.html#983 if (MultiplyWrappedQObjectMap *multiplyWrappedQObjects = engine->m_multiplyWrappedQObjects) { for (MultiplyWrappedQObjectMap::Iterator it = multiplyWrappedQObjects->begin(); it != multiplyWrappedQObjects->end();) { if (!it.value().isNullOrUndefined()) it = multiplyWrappedQObjects->erase(it); else ++it; } } That looks very sketchy. If `!it.value().isNullOrUndefined()` is changed to `it.value().isNullOrUndefined()`, tainted qobject wrappers don't get destroyed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Product: kdenlive Version: unspecified Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: Effects & Transitions Assignee: vpi...@kde.org Reporter: q...@arachnoid.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Still image clips cannot be extended beyond their default durations. If I choose a default duration, the clip cannot be made longer in the timeline. If I deliberately choose a much longer default duration and start over, in many cases the clip cannot be inserted into the timeline. This problem applies to Kdenlive version 21.08 as well as the most recent nightly at the time of this report (version 21.11.70). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Choose a duration in the Kdenlive setup dialog. 2. Load a still image clip. 3. Try to extend the clip beyond the default value automatically assigned. OBSERVED RESULT The clip cannot be extended past the system-defined default duration. It can be given a shorter duration but not longer.
