Can confirm the bug. On my config, both Bristle_frottis.kpp and
Pastel_texture_thin.kpp use the same pattern: "3-mini-rock-soft.png"

While, according to imagemagick, they should respectively use
3-mini-rock-soft.png and 3-rock-smooth.png

There should be the ability/option to double click on an empty frame and
instantly create a new frame, than going to the Animation panel and clicking on
the New frame button all the time.
If the frame is occupied, then nothing should happen but simply select that
frame.

Updating End frame:
This should also update the "End" frame in the Animation panel as well if the
new frame created exceeds the current "End" frame, so previewing is faster as
well.

Auto-add in-between frames:
Finally if your current last frame is e.g. 4 and you double click at 8, it
should create new empty frames-inbetween 4 and 8

Hello,

On last version of Plasma 5 i meet a strange problem: the tasks and icon bars
in the bottom of the desktop freezes.

-> Then no click seems to be possible on the bar and no right click on the
wallpaper seems to be possible.

ALT+F2 still works to launch programs... ALT+TAB still allows to switch between
running programs. Click on visible windows is also still possible and the
windows clicked get the focus, come on top of the others and the program works.

ALT+TAB+FX to get to text mode screen + ALT+TAB+FY to get back to graphical
mode unfreezes (for me) the bar... till the next freeze. The Time-To-Freeze can
get down to one freeze per ten minutes.

There is a bug filled in mageia bug tracker for that :
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20030

If you need more information please ask

Regards,
Maât

Git commit d4eac6a475681cf50d96e7d3480681f475c416b6 by Sebastian Gottfried.
Committed on 10/01/2017 at 10:34.

Fix Keyboard Focus Loss Issue For Trainer

When the main window got reactivated by window manager interaction
the training area lost the keyboard focus. This makes it impossible
to resume training immediately, one has to click into the window one
more time to set the focus manually.

In fact the whole Qt Quick scene lost the focus. The scene in is
rendered in its own QWindow and embedded into the main window with
QWidget::createWindowContainer. Then we main window receives the focus
it doesn't delegate the focus automatically to the embedded QWindow.

Setting a focus policy of the container widget fixes this.

Also prevent tabbing out of the training area. This is not useful
thing to have.

[trojita] [Bug 374859] Threaded view not really threaded

2017-01-10 Thread Jan Kundrát
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374859

This functionality depends on a server-side support ([1] and [2]) for e-mail
threads. Chances are that your IMAP server might only support
THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT which indeed sucks exactly like you described. You can
check the dialog under the hamburger icon -> IMAP -> Debugging -> IMAP Server
Information for a list of announced capabilities to confirm this.

We do not do client-side threading because doing that would require Trojita to
download a subset of header for each message in an entire mailbox. It is a
design decision -- we rely on IMAP features so that the server can do work on
our behalf and that we do not have to transfer data that we do not really need.
Unfortunately, this means that the end user experience is worse in case their
e-mail server leaves something to be desired. Right now for example we won't do
any threading on GMail because GMail servers have their own proprietary
extension for one-level-deep threading and because we don't have code to work
with this non-standard extension yet (patches welcome).

If you have suggestions on how to better reflect this state in the UI, please
propose them here.

If someone wants to contribute code which adds support for client-side
threading, I'll be happy to review the patches and to provide suggestions on
how to best approach the problem. However, I don't see myself actively working
on this.

Yes, the reply is always quoting exactly what is shown to the user.

It's an interesting suggestion to have the quote collapsing parameters exposed
to the user in some way. Patches (or even suggestions) are welcome. The
implementation lives in src/UiUtils/PlainTextFormatter.cpp , the numeric
parameters can be found there.

Yeah, I read about this decision in Trojita a couple of years ago.
Understandable. I just didn't know that this was a similar problem. For
reference, the IMAP server I'm using is Zimbra.

Not sure what you mean. If the client doesn't know about the threading, how
could it be reflected in the GUI?

The code that supports this surely exists somewhere. Other clients, incl.
Kmail, support this threading. Wouldn't it be possible to reuse it? (I'm not a
programmer, so I can't contribute code, unfortunately.)

[plasmashell] [Bug 374862] New: Cannot place windows on the second screen

2017-01-10 Thread unfa
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374862

Bug ID: 374862
Summary: Cannot place windows on the second screen
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.6.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Multi-screen support
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: unf...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

When I drag a window from the first screen ot the second one - it finally snaps
back to the first screen.

If a window opens on the second screen - once I start dragging it, it
momentarily snaps back to the first screen.

The only think I can do is drag the window so that it's over 50% on the second
screen and then maximize the window - which maximizes it on the second screen.
But trying to do anything else will snap the window back onto to first screen.

The DE that I use (Plasma) has a switch which controls whether an URL is always
opened in a web browser, or whether the MIME type is guessed/checked (I don't
actually know, maybe it uses its generic network stack to download or HTTP HEAD
it first) and then an appropriate local application is used for its handling.
Perhaps you can use a similar feature as well?

I believe that it's the job of the "rest of the desktop environment" to provide
a wrapper which gets triggered when a user "just clicked a web link" to ask
what they intend to do. I don't want to manage filetype associations within
Trojita, either; these are bits which we simply delegate to the DE.

> Internet, or not?

Yes, the libraries which we use can be asked to download stuff from the
Internet. However, this is limited to e-mail display, there's no extra UI, no
download resuming and what not. There's no user-facing download manager tied to
the HTTP stack.

> That's a good point, but couldn't this be hidden, for example, behind the
> systray icon? And I don't mean progress bars or something like that. Just a
> note that Trojita is trying to access so and so. Just an idea.

It can be done for sure. But I do not think that this /should/ be done within a
MUA.

2017-01-10 Thread Robert Kratky
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374832

My suggestion would be to either not to collapse by default (that seems to me
to be a less intrusive default than collapsing by default), or to make it
configurable. I.e. to include an option (in the 'View' menu?) that would toggle
automatic collapsing.

At the very least, It'd be nice to have the possibility to expand *all*
collapsed parts with one click/shortcut. As it is now, if I want to view the
whole message, I need to go through it, clicking along to show deeper and
deeper levels. To me, that seems very inconvenient.

Ah, that's probably a KDE-ism. Since you haven't said what version you're on
and because newer versions of Trojita merged the main into the toolbar by
default, you have to click an icon in the toolbar to get access to it. It's on
a lower left corner on this screenshot,
http://trojita.flaska.net/img/2016-03-22-trojita-home.png, and someone
suggested that it looks like a hamburger :].

> > If you have suggestions on how to better reflect this state in the UI,

You invested time by opening a bugreport which means that you were surprised to
see broken threading -- I understand that, that makes sense, and I appreciate
the feedback. So maybe there's something that we can do so that we won't get a
similar bugreport in future? (Apart from actually implementing this :). )

Maybe a pop-up or a mouse-over text next to the action in the menu? Something
else? A color-coded icon showing the "level of suckiness" of the IMAP server?
I'm looking for suggestions.

> The code that supports this surely exists somewhere. Other clients, incl.

Yes, other projects have solved this, but taking code from an external project
or even simply using a well-maintained library needs integration work. And
because I don't really need this feature myself, I don't see me investing my
time to write this. Patch review and guidance, yes, writing code, no.

That makes sense. Note that there's been some changes in current master since
the v0.7 release which at least make actions such as "mark as read" or "mark as

I use Plasma, too, but I actually like to open the individual types of files in
their associated apps. Even from Trojita. But I'd like to have the opportunity
to download the file instead of opening it when I choose so.

Even if I decided that I only want to open the files from Trojita in a browser,
it's not possible. (Unless I'm mistaken, there'no way to configure this
behaviour on a per-app basis.)

That sounds reasonable, but I don't know of any DE that would implement this.

Perhaps it would be possible to implement custom menu items as Thomas
suggested? I'd gladly write a wrapper script myself then.

disappear when using the "Take a New Screenshot" button and never show up

Thanks. You were right, just THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT :-/

Speaking of newer versions -- can you set up nightly builds for Fedora 25, too?
I now see that the 0.7 release that I use is not exactly new.

Ok, a popup that would warn of the inadequacies of the IMAP server (shown when
a user clocks on the threading toggle) could help.

Is Trojita featured on any of the open-source market place websites where I
could set up a bounty for this. As I said, I can't contribute code, but I'd be

2017-01-10 Thread Elias Probst
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374865

Bug ID: 374865
Summary: "Tree View" option in settings is gone
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org

The "Tree View" option is gone from SystemSettings' configuration dialog, only
"Icon View" can be selected.

If this was intentional, the "View Style" selection should be removed, as a
radio button selection with just a single choice doesn't make sense.

If it wasn't intentional, "Tree View" should be restored as choice for "View
Style".

See also attached screenshot.

The workaround of "width < height" only works for me when the panel is aligned
at the middle or bottom for a vertical panel, or right/middle for a horizontal
one. i.e. the black window will appear if and only the left top corner is
occupied by the panel. Leaving a single pixel for the background will dismiss
the black window.

I have "Present Windows" effect bound to the upper-left corner of the screen.
If I move mouse cursor there too fast, the pointer stucks several pixels away
from the corner and doesn't trigger the effect. It only triggers if I move it
really slowly.

This bug shows itself also as a visual glitches if moving the cursor to any
screen edge: pointer moves rather smoothly, but as it approaches the edge, it
starts jumping noticeably.

It only occurs in the Wayland session.

is melt refusing to do its job without telling kdenlive what the error is, or
could this problem be deeper? (ffmpeg, avconv, avformat, etc)

Can you try the render to script feature ? In the render dialog, instead of
"Render to file", you have an option to "render to script". This will create a
script file, usually in $HOME/Documents/scripts/script001.sh (it will ask you
for a path). Then, open a terminal and go in the folder of the file
($HOME/Documents/scripts in that case) and type:
./script001.sh (or any name that you gave in the render dialog).

That might print some more informations about the rendering problem

Yes, child nodes of FormattedValue/JoinedString often (but not always?) have
totally bogus ranges starting on line 0 or even -1.

That caused any variables used to not be found, with all such errors appearing
at the start of the file.

(also crashes for visitors that assumed context ranges to be sane).

Disabling the visitors stopped this, pending a real fix.

[kwin] [Bug 374869] Window geometry is not updated if resizing a non-GTK application

2017-01-10 Thread Igor Poboiko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374869

While investigating that, I also noted three another issues related to
resizing.
1) Cursor is wrong if I'm resizing the window by dragging the lower-right
corner (it's two arrows pointing to top-right and lower-left, while should be
pointing to top-left and lower-right).
2) If I try to resize Skype right after launching it, it only resizes by
several pixels (~10px) and then stops. After dancing around (moving the window,
alt+tabbing, several attempts of resizing), at some point it starts working. Of
all applications I've tested (both GTK and Qt), Skype seems to be only one
affected.
3) KWin Debug Console doesn't want to resize when using "Alt+Right mouse button
drag".

I can fill it as separate bugs (if these issues are not yet known)

I have a ascii file with two columns. First is a date in the format (-MM-dd
hh:mm:ss) second is the output of an air sensor. The two field are separated by
a ';'. Unfortunately the date field is not recognized by the import tool.
Also copy and paste to the column does not work. When the column is set to
"Date and time" a date in the above format is possible when entered manually.

First fields of the ascii file:
"Date";"CO2/VOC level"

[plasmashell] [Bug 371858] Occasional wrong desktop at startup

Git commit a9abb4ad66a93a9800347c906cbe2003d99e9e0f by Marco Martin.
Committed on 10/01/2017 at 15:03.
Pushed by mart into branch 'master'.

better clean up of duplicate containments

Summary:
due to old multiscreen bugs, sometimes the appletsrc file
gets polluted with a lot of containments with same activity id
and lastScreen, in some cases even hundreds
(see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371858)
in that case we can't be 100% sure what containment will be loaded
at startup, leading to an herratical behavior.
it was trying to clean up duplicates but wasn't really effective
now base upon lastScreen (so we catch other activities as well)
and manually remove the destroyed containment from
m_desktopContainments (which may sole some multiscreen
related bug, such as 371991)
Related: bug 371991

Test Plan:
started a session with the corrupted appletsrc from the bugreport,
file gets cleaned out of duplicates
