[kwin] [Bug 361154] Running native OpenGL games - with compositing enabled - breaks X11 Plasma 5.6.0 Window Decorations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361154 --- Comment #19 from Thomas Lübking --- What really puzzles me is the nature of this bug. Apparently it's required to start "a game™" which in turn suspends the compositor and then there're artifacts (aka "invalid textures") in 3rd processes and bug #361534 describes "black borders" around even uncomposited windows (falsely mapped shadow windows?) Just suspending the compositor or auto-suspending it along "not games" apparently doesn't cause this. > This bug becomes more annoying when you are using cairo-dock and try to use > opengl applications like Unreal Engine or UInity 3D. > Cairo dock is using opengl and everything gets disable and the only thing you > can see from the dock is a Black Square Dock a) does cairo-dock turn black when simply suspending the compositor? b) does the problem exist when suspending the compositor explicitly and then running the desired game? c) does it exist when applying a kwin rule to not autosuspend compositing for the games? [systemsettings] [Bug 361620] New: Allow to set the keyboard layout and model combo

Currently in my setup I use a laptop and an external keyboard. The laptop is a Macbook Pro with a PT layout and a GB layout external keyboard. The problem is the model is different and also the number of keys and some key positions, so every time I need to change the keyboard layout I also need to change the model. So the ideal situation would be to set the model and layout (or layouts) used based on keyboard model. I imagine that every time we connect a new keyboard we would configure both the model and available layouts (when you want to use different layouts on the same keyboard.) [tellico] [Bug 361622] New: Tellico ("Video Collection") crashes if there is a blank line in "Cast"

I find it really fast and really flexible (I've added more fields and developed, based on the example provided, my own IMDb interface plugin in Python to retrieve data from IMDb and populate those extra fields). Thank you for developing Tellico and making it available! I am using Tellico as retrieved from the Kubuntu packages (as per above), I haven't compiled my own version. The following bug should be easily reproducible. It happens to me me every single time. Whenever there is a blank line in the list of "Cast" (in the middle of the list, not at the end) for a Video Collection, the programme crashes upon saving the entry. Step 1 - Create an entry, create a list of "Cast" (see example attached) Step 2 - Delete the data for a line in the middle (not at the end) of the list of "Cast", to create a blank line; that's deleting the data without using Right Click > Remove Row (see screen-shot attached) Step 3 - Click on "Save Entry" - the programme crashes! (see screen-shot and "Developer information" attached) This happens to me when I want to re-order the rows on the "Cast" list - I would "Insert Row", then cut-and-paste data from a row into the new one, and sometimes I forget to "Remove Row" for the old (now empty) row. It is an issue as it may mean losing all the modifications made since the last "Save". I don't believe the program should crash, ever, even if the user does something wrong. Suggested fixes: 1 - Find a way to save the data as-is, so that when the user saves and re-opens the video entry, the data is as I saved it, i.e. with an empty row on the "Cast" list 2 - Ignore the empty row, so that when the user saves and re-opens the video entry, if there was, say, 1 row + 1 empty row + 1 row, there are only two rows left, with the empty row having disappeared altogether 3 - Don't save the entry, and display an error message, e.g. "Can't save at this time as there is an empty row on 'Cast' list" Personally, I would be very happy with solution 1 or 2 (indifferently) and would find solution 3 acceptable. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

But as it cites the whole message text, the notifications can get very long, and in fact they sometimes are longer than there is vertical space on my screen. I attach a screen shot. In such case the close button is somewhere above my screen and not reachable. I can't close the notifcation (clicking them once closed them, but this behavior was recently changed) and I have to wait until it dissapears from itself. Of course I could file a bug report against kdeconnect (crop you notifcations!), but I think the right place for this to be fixed is Plasma, as it may concern also other applications. [tellico] [Bug 361625] New: Tellico ("Video Collection") - Date field filter bugs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361625 Bug ID: 361625 Summary: Tellico ("Video Collection") - Date field filter bugs Product: tellico Version: 2.3.9 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: ro...@periapsis.org Reporter: ejr2...@mybtinternet.com Created attachment 98337 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=98337&action=edit Example database and screen-shots Version: 2.3.9 4.14.15, Kubuntu packages OS: Linux (x86_64) release 4.2.0-35-generic Compiler: x86_64-linux-gnu-gcc Hi, I am reporting here two bugs in relation to filtering on "Date" fields in a Video Collection. I believe they are unrelated, but who knows, maybe they are. Please see example database attached (but they are easily reproducible - you should be able to get the same behaviour if you create your own database). I have added an additional "custom" date field, which I've called "My Date" (through Collection > Collection Fields). This could be used for instance for "Last time movie was watched" or "Date when DVD purchased" or whatever... I am making the distinction below between this "custom date" field, and "standard date" fields, such as "Date Created" and "Date Modified". I have created two entries (one would suffice, actually - there is no need for two entries to see the bugs) both with "My Date" = 2016-01-02 (2nd Jan 2016) and "Date Created" = 2016-04-11 (11th Apr 2016) I have also created 5 filters: - "After" - Filter on "My Date" "is after" 01/01/2016 - "Before" - Filter on "My Date" "is before" "01/01/2017" - "Created-After" - Filter on "Date Created" "is after" 01/01/2016 - "Created-Before" - Filter on "Date Created" "is before" "01/01/2017" - "Equals" - Filter of "My Date" "equals" "02/01/2016" (2nd Jan 2016) Please note that, based on the data above, all 5 filters should find 2 matching records. BUG #1: --- You can check that the filters have been created as described above (with the criterion being "is after" or "is before" as described) in the xml file provided. You may also want to create your own filters to double-check. Regardless of the filter, whenever I double-click on it (or Right-Click > Modify Filter), the window that opens shows the criterion as "equals" and not "is before" or "is after" as the filter was created. Please see attached screen-shot for filter "After". This is true for all four "before" or "after" filters. BUG #2: --- The three filters "Created-After", "Created-Before" and "Equals" work correctly - all three correctly find two matching records. The two filters "After" and "Before" (which filter based on the "custom date") do not work correctly. They fail to find the two records that should match the criterion ("My Date" being before or after the set date - in both cases, the criterion should be met). Please see attached screen-shot. I am therefore led to believe this bug affects only "custom" (not "standard") date fields, and only when the criterion is "is before" or "is after". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360841 --- Comment #3 from Martin Gräßlin --- That's as I expected. The keyboard grab seems to fail, that's why neither the shortcut nor the filter works. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361625 ejr2...@mybtinternet.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|UNCONFIRMED Resolution|WORKSFORME |--- --- Comment #3 from ejr2...@mybtinternet.com --- Hi Robbie, Thank you very much for the prompt turn-around. I have now downloaded the code for version 2.3.11 and compiled it on my laptop (only version 2.3.9 seems to be available from the Kubuntu repository for some reason). I confirm that Bug #1 above ("is after" and "is before" criteria replaced by "equals" when modifying a filter) is fixed in this version. However. Bug #2 ("is before" or "is after" filter on "custom", non-standard, date fields not working) does not seem to be fixed. Please see new attached screen-shot Bug_Dates-3.png Both "Before" and "After" filters should return 2 entries, whereas they seem to find none. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 360841] Unable to unshow/unpresent windows using the same keyboard shortcut
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360841 --- Comment #6 from Thomas Lübking --- please run "sleep 20; qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation > kwin.support.info" and trigger the dysfunctional effect (DG or PW) within the next 20 seconds, wait until the timeout hit (so you'll have gotten the debug info), maybe ensure that the effect (notably filtering) really didn't work and then attach the gathered information. KWin might hold the grab, but some other effect (or the tabbox???) could receive it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 361500] kwin crashes in "O2ES" mode while click on task-manager entry with multible instances
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361500 --- Comment #2 from Thomas Lübking --- It's enforced GLES ... @FabiB, check the outputs of ldd /usr/lib/libQt5Core.so.5 and ldd `which kwin_x11` If they say something like libGLX.so and or libEGL or libGL.so, afaik that won't work, because you cannot intermix a Qt5 libGL build with libGLES. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
