I just updated to tomcat 8.5.61. When starting the application with the
document base out of webapps, the files at the document root get deleted at
some point.
I tried setting antiResourceLocking on the Context but to no avail.

I had no issues with tomcat 8.5.59 and 9.0.39.

I have the same behaviour with tomcat 9.0.41,8.5.60 and 9.0.40.

Is there any other change in configuration which occured after 8.5.59 and
9.0.39?

The behaviour is quite the same on a CentOS 8 VM i set up.

It doesn't concern tomcat.

Migration Guide question

Quick question.

In looking at the Migration Guides, there is a guide for going from 7.0x to 
8.0x and a guide for going from 8.0x to 8.5x. However, there isn't a guide for 
going from Tomcat 7x to 8.5x. With 7.0 going EOL at the end of March, is there 
any hope of a migration plan for developers going from 7x to 8.5x?

Unlikely. Any such guide would just be a concatenation of the 7.0.x to
8.0.x guide and the 8.0.x to 8.5.x guide. Creating a 7.0.x to 8.5.x
guide would just create a maintenance overhead.

I've just scanned through those docs and don't see anything else that
would be required.
