Re: Welcome Christos Malliaridis as Solr Committer
Hello everyone, It's an honor to be invited and now also be officially part of the Solr and Apache team. Thank you very much for the warm welcome. Since I'm often asked how I found my way to the Solr project, I think I'll introduce myself by telling that story. I have started my career in the mobile app development sector and focused a lot on frontend development and UI/UX. Thanks to my curiosity and love for software development, I expanded my knowledge to include entire systems and various frameworks. At some point I ended up concepting a new social media platform for a specific industry and validated Solr as a possible technology for a couple use cases. During this phase I tried Solr's Admin UI and the java client for the first time. Thanks to a bug I found in the client's v2 API classes, I made my first contribution. You were very welcoming from the very first day, and this experience encouraged me to look into further contributions. I will try my best to share and pass down the same sense of warmth and encouragement to others as I continue contributing to the team and project. With sincere thanks, Christos Malliaridis

Re: Missing Docs for the cross-dc module?
Also, do we want to keep the old code in https://github.com/apache/solr-sandbox/? Seems like if this code has "graduated" the Sandbox, we should either remove it, or maybe move it to a directory called "graduated" or something to indicate that sandbox is no longer the primary home? Re: Missing Docs for the cross-dc module?
Looking again, I noticed that we have a unit test at the root: https://github.com/apache/solr-sandbox/blob/main/SolrAndKafkaIntegrationTest.java Do we need to take a pass through and organize the sandbox a bit? I know it's a sandbox, so a bit of mess is to be expected... ;-). I am also not looking to take a new project on!
