Looking again, I noticed that we have a unit test at the root:
https://github.com/apache/solr-sandbox/blob/main/SolrAndKafkaIntegrationTest.java
Do we need to take a pass through and organize the sandbox a bit?  I know it's
a sandbox, so a bit of mess is to be expected... ;-).

I am also not looking to take a new project on!

Also, do we want to keep the old code in
https://github.com/apache/solr-sandbox/?    Seems like if this code has
"graduated" the Sandbox, we should either remove it, or maybe move it to a
directory called "graduated" or something to indicate that sandbox is no longer
the primary home?

We needn't repeat ourselves.  It's adequate to have a README with a brief
summary and then point to the ref guide for further info.
