Description : Scrubber is a server-side daemon for filtering mail content

Scrubber is a server-side daemon for filtering mail content. It attempts
to solve the issues that plague many server-side content filtering
solutions such as extensibility, speed, SMTP-specific dependencies, and
virtual hosting.

Bug#220353: tkbibtex should not be packaged without contacting upstream first

2003-12-31 Thread Tobias Toedter
Hi,

I intended to package tkbibtex already some months ago. After I made contact
with Peter Corke, the upstream author, he said that he doesn't want to have
his program included in Debian.

The reason for this was that he already had some bug reports from users and
wasn't able to resolve the bugs/feature requests. He feared that the
distribution within Debian would increase the userbase, so that he would get
even more bug reports.

We agreed that he'll come up with a list of bugs to be resolved before
tkbibtex should be included in Debian. I offered to help him with the bugs,
but he hasn't gotten back to me since then.

So basically I would suggest to every prospective maintainer of tkbibtex to
contact Peter first, before doing any packaging work. He might have changed
his mind, I haven't had any correspondence with him for quite some time.

I don't use this program any more, so I'm not that interested in packaging it
myself.

Cheers,

Bug#208218: Nagios Plugins Package

2003-12-31 Thread Guido Trotter

Hi,

I'm very sorry (again) for the delay.

This december has been very busy for me and I haven't been able to do much.

Also I'm going on vacation to take a little break from the 1st to the 5th
of January 2004.

I should be able to complete the packaging of nagios-plugins and upload
them when I come back, if anyone doesn't do it before.

Thanks for your patience,

Guido

It depends on ffmpeg, which AFAIK cannot be distributed legally by Debian -
right? I guess it could still go in contrib, though... :-/

Bug#225690: RFA: gnunet -- Secure, trust-based peer-to-peer framework

2003-12-31 Thread Glenn McGrath
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Due to time changing time commitments in the short to medium term, i
dont expect to do much work on gnunet on libextractor.

It could do with some attention, with a bit of work it could be compiled
against libgcrypt7 instead of its internal crypto which would be an
improvment.

Due to time changing time commitments in the short to medium term, i

libextractor doesnt need much maintenance, however its a build

libextractor be maintained by the same person.

Bug#150636: Bug#225651: ncbi-tools-x11: want Cn3D++

2003-12-31 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
retitle 225651 ncbi-tools-x11: want Cn3D++
thanks

Hi. Newer versions of Cn3D are part of NCBI's next generation toolkit
(written in C++ rather than C), which I already intend to package (see
http://bugs.debian.org/150636 ). However, I should warn you that this
may not happen for a while, since the C++ Toolkit requires more effort
to package due to its increased size and (limited) use of many
additional libraries, and my current PC (a few years old) takes hours
for each build attempt.

I decided to orphan cacti's package while I'm not using/having more
interest on it.

There is a new upstream version available that is a quite complete
rewrite. So I don't think the patches I had to apply are necessary.

Cheers.

to fix them. Packaging and uploading warped is the second major step in
fixing these bugs.
