Bug#580706: kmail crashes with akonadi
I seem to be experiencing the same bug in debian unstable (amd64) after upgrading to: akonadi-backend-sqlite 1.6.2-2+b1 akonadi-backend-mysql 1.6.2-2 mysql-common 5.5.23-2 mysql-server-core 5.1.62-1 libmysqlclient18 5.5.23-2 I also have libmysqlclient16 5.1.62-1 installed. Even after running 'akonadictl stop && rm -r ~/.local/share/akonadi' I am unable to start either kmail or akonadiconsole; see attached log files. Hopefully the bug Erik found in mysql will solve this frustrating problem with akonadi and kmail! akonadi-server.log Description: Binary data akonadiconsole.log Description: Binary data akonadi-kmail.log Description: Binary data
Bug#580706: kmail crashes with akonadi
> Looks like it can't find the mysqld executable. > What does which mysqld say for you? mysql-server is not installed, so there is no mysqld available. However I am using akonadi-backend-sqlite, so mysqld should not be required for akonadi to work. If it is, then there is either a bug in akonadi-backend-sqlite or a missing dependency in akonadi-server. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Re: Compile problem on multiple non-amd64 architectures
Hi, just in case someone stumbles across this thread.. I finally figured out the cause of the compile problem: My upload included the generated .qmake.stash file. The file got regenerated on "make clean" and therefore was bundled by debuild. Deleting .qmake.stash as the final step in the "clean" target of my Makefile fixed the issue. Bug#811058: sddm: password field loses focus if a 2nd monitor is connected
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Package: sddm Version: 0.13.0-1 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, if you have a locked screen (e.g. after resuming from suspend), usually the password fields has the focus (good, because you don't need the mouse to log in). Compile problem on multiple non-amd64 architectures
Hi Folks (please CC, I am not subscribed), I ported packagesearch to QT5 due to the removal of QT4. On my machine everything compiled fine. But when I uploaded the package, almost all buildds failed to build (except for the amd64 one). https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=packagesearch&suite=sid I am a bit at a loss, what could cause the problem, and searching the web for a solution did not reveal much either. Is there someone who could provide some help or take over the investigation? Am I missing some dependencies or do I invoke qt the wrong way? You can get the source via "apt-get source" or from SourceForge https://git.code.sf.net/p/packagesearch/git The compilation (moc) fails with the following message: /usr/lib/qt5/bin/moc -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_WIDGETS_LIB -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_XML_LIB -DQT_NETWORK_LIB -DQT_CORE_LIB --include .moc/moc_predefs.h -I/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/qt5/mkspecs/linux-g++ -I/<>/src -I/<>/src -I/usr/include/tagcoll-2.0.14 -I/usr/include/i386-linux-gnu/qt5 -I/usr/include/i386-linux-gnu/qt5/QtWidgets -I/usr/include/i386-linux-gnu/qt5/QtGui -I/usr/include/i386-linux-gnu/qt5/QtXml -I/usr/include/i386-linux-gnu/qt5/QtNetwork -I/usr/include/i386-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore -I/usr/include/c++/7 -I/usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/c++/7 -I/usr/include/c++/7/backward -I/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/7/include -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/7/include-fixed -I/usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu -I/usr/include packagesearchimpl.h -o .moc/moc_packagesearchimpl.cpp usr/include/c++/7/bits/stl_relops.:67: Parse error at "std" Makefile:520: recipe for target '.moc/moc_packagesearchimpl.cpp' failed make[3]: *** [.moc/moc_packagesearchimpl.cpp] Error 1 make[3]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs In file included from packagesearchimpl.cpp:70:0: extalgorithm.h:124:7: warning: 'template class std::binder2nd' is deprecated [-Wdeprecated-declarations] class binder2nd > : public unary_function { ^ In file included from /usr/include/c++/7/bits/stl_function.h:1127:0, from /usr/include/c++/7/bits/stl_tree.h:65, from /usr/include/c++/7/map:60, from packagesearchimpl.h:18, from packagesearchimpl.cpp:13: /usr/include/c++/7/backward/binders.h:143:11: note: declared here class binder2nd ^ In file included from packagesearchimpl.cpp:70:0: extalgorithm.h:145:7: warning: 'template class std::binder2nd' is deprecated [-Wdeprecated-declarations] class binder2nd > : public unary_function { ^ In file included from /usr/include/c++/7/bits/stl_function.h:1127:0, from /usr/include/c++/7/bits/stl_tree.h:65, from /usr/include/c++/7/map:60, from packagesearchimpl.h:18, from packagesearchimpl.cpp:13: /usr/include/c++/7/backward/binders.h:143:11: note: declared here class binder2nd ^ make[3]: Leaving directory '/<>/src' Makefile:15: recipe for target 'all' failed make[2]: *** [all] Error 2 Best regards Ben
Re: Compile problem on multiple non-amd64 architectures
Hi Lisandro, thanks for the quick help. I will try this. Everything looked fine to me, because the qt5-moc was used. So, if I understand the fix correctly, I have to tell the qt5-moc to actually expect qt5 code. It is a little bit confusing, all my makefile are generated from .pro files with "qmake -qt5 input.pro", so I had expected the Makefiles to be generated correctly (i.e. calling moc -qt5). Obviously I was wrong. I wonder, if this is, how the tool should behave? Re: Compile problem on multiple non-amd64 architectures
Hi, I am still not having any luck. I did add "export QT_SELECT=qt5" in my Makefile (which is directly called by debian/rules from the clean/build targets) but the error remains the same. To reproduce the problem, I have logged into a porterbox (mipsel, which failed on a buildd). However, for me packagesearch compiled fine. Could it make a difference, whether I export QT_SELECT in the Makefile or in debian/rules. Since I cannot reproduce the build failure, I am a bit left in the dark. I hate to upload a lot of new versions to unstable just to try things out. Any ideas on how to reproduce the bug? What could be special on the buildds? Re: Compile problem on multiple non-amd64 architectures
Hi, I tried adding the export QT_SELECT statement to the rules file with no difference. Also, I tried compiling on another porterbox (partch.debian.org) and everything did compile fine. I am out of ideas. What do you mean by "ask for a give back". Any other ideas? Bug#499514: Recommending cups-bsd is not a full fix
IMO merely recommending cups-bsd is not a full fix: If one has lpr installed, cups-bsd won't be installed alongside cups-bsd. As long as okular _silently_ fails to print in some configurations I would not consider this bug solved. A simple solution would be to check, if cupsbsd is available upon printing and inform the user if not. (Btw. shouldn't lpr from the cupsbsd and the lpr package share a common interface?) Package: KDE4 Severity: normal --- Please enter the report below this line. --- After upgrade from KDE3 to KDE4 a dbus-error message is display every few seconds when beeing on the console. KDE4 itself works fine. Error message is as followed: "process 5097: arguments to dbus_move_error() were incorrect, assertion "(dest) == NULL || !dbus_error_is_set ((dest))" failed in file dbus-errors.c line 278. This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library." A solution posted at sidux.com suggest to remove pcscd and libchipcard~ to solve the problem. (http://www.sidux.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-11553-highlight- dbusmoveerror.html) As i need to use the packages pcscd and libchipcard~ for the chipcardreader for Jameica/Hibiscus i would be pleased if there would be a better solution. Bug#426293: [kopete] Similiar bug still exsisting
Package: kopete Version: 4:4.2.2-1 --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Hello, I tested it again with the the KDE4 version of Kopete. I took a group (group name contains spaces) and renamed it. After restarting Kopete I have two groups: The old one and the new one. The old one contains all meta-contacts that contain at least one Jabber contact. The ICQ only contacts were moved to the new group. So there still seems to be a bug with this. After that I renamed both groups to the same name (only containing letters). These two groups were not joined so that I have two groups with the same name in the contact list. At last I created a new group and moved the contacts from the two groups with drag and drop to the new one. This time it worked and the contacts are in one group again. Bug#426293: [kopete] Addition
Hello, I have additional information: After restarting Kopete, it told me that some contacts are missing on my ICQ server list. I let Kopete add them again. Now all contacts from the group that I have renamed before which had ICQ and Jabber contacts are missing ICQ authorization. That tells me that somehow the ICQ contacts were not moved correctly and somehow they were deleted when I deleted the apparently empty groups. Bug#526135: Additional information
Hello, now the crash already occurs when I switch to the day or week view in KOrganizer. This is very annoying and makes KOrgranizer unusable for me. I started KOrganizer under gdb and checked what causes the exception. The SIGFPE is caused by line 1870 in the file kdepimlibs-4.2.2/kcal/kdepimlibs-4.2.2/recurrencerule.cpp. This line is periods += ( mFrequency - 1 - ( ( periods - 1 ) % mFrequency ) ); The debugger told me that mFrequency is zero, which explains the exception. I do not know why this is the case and where this member variable is set. Kind regards, Benjamin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#526135: Possible fix
Hello, I have found a workaround. Setting the initial value of mFrequency in line 706 of recurrencerule.cpp to a value other than zero (I tested one) fixes the bug for me. Bug#526135: [korganizer] Patch
Hello, the patch attached to this e-mail works for me. The previous solution with setting the initial value of mFrequency led to some hidden events. With this patch the division by zero does not occur anymore and all events are visible. Maybe I should add that I am using a calendar stored on an IMAP server (Kolab). I hope it is all right that I reassigned this bug to kdepimlibs5, because the source file is part of kdepimlibs. Bug#536446: kwin: dual screen, mouse's virtual position on wrong screen
Package: kwin Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6 Severity: normal Hi, sometimes, yes sorry I have no idea when, I get an annoying problem. I have got a setup with monitor A, with a smaller resolution and a larger monitor B using xinerama. ||| | A |xxxv. B| ||. | |- When the problem occures, the mouse is still on the bigger monitor B, but is only movable in an area as big as the smaller monitor A (Marked by x). Additionally the position where a click is performed is not at the display position of the cursor. When I try to move the cursor lefft to monitor A, the cursor jumps into the opposite direction, which is the edge of the currently movable area of the mouse (Marked by the 'v'. It seems like it thinks the edge of monitor A is somewhere in monitor B). Which means it stays on monitor B. I can only move the cursor to monitor A if I manage to click focus a window on that monitor. After that the behavior seems to be normal again. Hope you can see what I mean - I would love to add a video but it can't quite reproduce it. I filed it as "kwin" but might also be a xfree problem. Thanks for your time. Bug#343190: libqt4-dev: qmake adding unneeded libraries to the linker command line
Package: libqt4-dev Version: 4.0.1-2 Severity: minor Hello, to reduce dependencies between packages, it is suggested to add only neccessary libraries as linker arguments. Crash when loading application image
Hello, I've received a bug report [1] against packagesearch crashing on arch i386 (it was reported to work fine on amd64). The backtrace [2] indicates that the problem lies within the QT library, and the fact that with Qt 4.0.1 everything worked fine seem to support this thesis. Therefore I would like to reassign the bug to libqt4-core. Bug#346603: libqt4-dev: linker error cannot find -lQt3Support_debug when compiling in debug mode

But when I am at it: Is a dependency on libqt3-headers required? If so I need to add it to my package (I think I did successfully compile it without libqt3-headers before, but I might be wrong). An update of libqt4-debug to 4.1 (which was still 4.0.1 before) fixed this issue and brought it down to bug 346586. So probably libqt4-dev 4.1 should conflict with libqt4-debug <= 4.0.1? This used to work fine in earlier versions of QT (up to 4.0.1) and probably should not lead to a crash. The line was created in from a ui file, and I had it there to have a nice symbol when editing the file in the designer. Later in the code I am setting the icon to something that works for the normal installation. So a quick fix for packagesearch is, to simply remove the reference to the icon from the ui file. However I think it is still no the appropriate thing to crash (and it seems not to do so on amd64). Perhaps a bug report to Trolltech is due? Note that I was not able to verify my thesis, because currently I can't compile with the latest QT due to bug #346603. I was not able to reproduce the crash in a small example, but you can pull packagesearch from SourceForge subversion: https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/packagesearch/trunk/packagesearch There are some lines commented out calling qApp->processEvents() (e.g. in src/pluginmanager.cpp). If you uncomment the first qApp->processEvents() call in pluginmanager packagesearch will crash on startup, uncommenting the second works fine though. The error message look kinda weird...: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. Bug#357939: Mixing release and debug mode
Ok, I think I've found the reason for the crashes: packagesearch is written using dynamic plugins, the dynamic plugins can be compiled with different setting than the main application. If I mix debug and release versions (e.g. the plugins in release and the main application in debug mode) the crash occurs. If I have a pure release or debug system it seems to work fine. Due to my screwed up build system, I didn't notice this before. However, I think this should still be considered a bug. Re: Bug#391933: packagesearch - FTBFS: cannot find -lsqlite
Hello, attached you find a bug report about a linker error that occured when building packagesearch. This build error surfaced only recently (and happens also on i386 and probably all other architectures) and occurs only on systems with an up to date set of packages. A diff of a successful and a non-successful buildlog showed, that the most notable differences, which seemed related to the bug report, were in using the latest QT4 and libmysqlclient15 packages: QT 4.1.4 (worked) vs. QT 4.2 libraries (failed) and libmysqlclient15 5.0.24a-7 (worked) vs. libmysqlclient15 5.0.24a-9 (failed) since there was nothing mentioned in a NEWS file, I suspect, that there was an error introduces in one of those packages. If the bug is caused by a bad/missing dependency in packagesearch please let me know. Note that I am using qmake for building my package. The full bug log can be found at http://bugs.debian.org/391933 Please respond as soon as possible, since I will be gone soon and the freeze of etch is at the doorstep. I have attached the successfull and not-successful builddlogs for packagesearch on s390. E.g. all window decorations are lost. This problem does not occur when running KDE. I've encountered those crashes with e.g. the QT-Assistent, packagesearch as well as a self compiled application as simple as: #include #include int main(int argc, char **argv) { QApplication a(argc, argv); QMainWindow window; window.show(); return a.exec(); } Note that Ctrl+C'ing or killing the program does not result in a crash of the WM. Bug#395415: kontact: Kontact crashes on startup
Hello, I tried the first workaround: - Started Kmail and deactivated IMAP resources. - Closed Kmail and waited until all kio_imap4 processes disappeared from process list. - Started Kontact. No problems. Closed Kontact. - Started Kmail. Activated IMAP resources. - Closed Kmail and waited until all kio_imap4 processes disappeared from process list. - Started Kontact. Crash. So this workaround does not work for me. Do you need some more information? Configuration files? strace? Regards, Benjamin pgpgKqJluOkX9.pgp Description: PGP signature

Package: kpdf Version: 4:3.5.7-4 Severity: normal Hi, I can not copy underscore "_" characters from the gSOAP 2.7.9 Documentation PDF to any other location. I tried it with a different document and it worked, so it might be a problem with the document format/encoding. Problem with kcontrol in sarge
Hi, first of all thank you very much for your work. Here comes my Problem: I can't configure arts through kcontrol anymore. If I klick on the Sound-System Icon in kcontrol I get with message: *** Fehlermeldung: Bibliotheksdatei libkcm_arts.la ist über Ihren PATH nicht auffindbar. *** It's german and means that a file called "libkcm_arts.la" isn't found on the system and that I should contact the people at my distribution, so here I am. I ran sarge on about 10 PCs and don't have any Problems with that on the other machines but none of them got the wanted file. This Problem is not only on my account, root and all the other account do have the same Problem. About 1 week ago or so it was working fine. I tryed to reinstall kontrol and pretty much everything from kde but it didn't help my in any way. Maybe someone will find the time and help me. Thanks Ben Pfitzner
Bug#236417: Konqueror 4:3.2.1-1 Super User Menu item
Package: Konqueror Version: 4:3.2.1-1 When I invoke the "File Manager - Super User Mode" command from the KDE 3.2 menu Konqueror comes up in web browser mode, not file browser mode. I fixed the problem by editing the menu item in the KDE menu editor. I replaced the command "konqueror" with "kfmclient openProfile filemanagement" I suggest that this be the default command for the "File Manager - Super User Mode" command. This is a very minor bug. I like KDE 3.2 so far it looks great! Thanks

Other applications like firefox or krusader work, but not icedove. This is the case for a long time now and I thought it was time for a bugreport. It would be nice if someone could have a look at it. Bug#1098679: libpyside6-dev: Incorrect include directory
Package: libpyside6-dev Version: 6.6.2-4 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: benj5...@outlook.com Dear Maintainer, For PySide6 debian package, CMake INTERFACE_INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES points to /usr/lib/include/PySide6. But all include files are installed in /usr/include/PySide6. This causes error with find_package in CMake. And build issues when trying to build other programs.
