Dear Maintainer,

In order to access my GDrive I've installed kio-gdrive and I've tried to add a
proper gdrive resource, but immediately systemsettings crashes. These are the
informations I've been able to retrieve through gdb:

Bug#495474: [kmid] kmid doesn't play any sound

2008-08-17 Thread Valerio Passini
Package: kmid
Version: 4:3.5.9-3
Severity: serious

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Dear Developers,

I'm unable to play midi files using kmid while rosegarden works flawlessy. I
have a cheap integrated soundcard (Intel HDA) and so I'm pushed to use
fluyidsinth or timidity as software synthesyzer. I'm not completely sure
that's all fault of kmid, because using an older kernel (2.6.24.7) that has a
different configuration of output channels in alsa, I can play midi's with
kmid.
Sorry for this poor bugreport, but I don't have any clue about it. Midi
playing has always been a nightmare in Linux :)
Ciao

Valerio

Bug#495474: [kmid] kmid doesn't play any sound

Dear Ana,

I've already tried to play a little with those settings with no effective
results, but there is something new. I've experimented that if I move the
slider in kmid to jump in different sections of a song, I can listen to
something, like a locked chord.
So the complete absence of any sound seems do be due to the initial silence
contained in some of the songs I have that is extended to the end of the song
itself. I've tried this both using timidity and fluidsynth: kmid behaves the
same.
I hope this helps a little in tracking down this bug. Cheers

I think that the problem is not literally the "absence" of any sound from
kmid, but that it plays just the few notes at the beninning of the song
producing a sound that lasts "forever". So if the beginning of the song
contains a chord, I listen to a locked chord (eg: Re-e), if the
beginning has a pause, I listen to nothing.
Kmid behaves in this way just described with any software synthesizer I have
(Timidity and Fluidsynth). I use Rosegarden as a positive control, to check
if I've loaded the right modules and softsynth with soundfonts: every time
Rosegarden plays well any song.
Cheers

Bug#503149: [kmail] Kmail messes with text identation

2008-10-22 Thread Valerio Passini
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.9-5
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
I love kmail and I'm using it since 2002, but I have just come aware that it
has this silly behaviour by design: it changes automatically the special
characters used for spacing and indentation in text. This is unimportant
until you send a message, but if you receive emails containing a diff/patch
to apply to a piece of code, then everything must be indented again (with sad
results).
This bug has shown up more then 1 year ago in linux kernel mailing list
http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/linux-kernel/2007/7/5/112282/thread
and it's really a pity that it is still there. BTW I have "re-invented" the
wheel with this bug report, but I really wish that the guys upstream fix it.
Cheers

Kpackage has become useless and substitutions (kpackagekit?) are on the way,
moreover is not maintained by its author and none cares to take the job of
resolving bugs upstream. I think it's time to say R.I.P to kpackage.

I think that Debian should move to a more recent kdepim as soon as 4.7.4

Hi Didier,

I've tried to downgrade, but apart leaving many packages with unmet
dependencies, this
didn't solve anything. Just for the records, after the installation of
system-config-
printer-kde in testing this was the message in console:
vale...@abraracourcix:~$ system-config-printer-kde

Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "/usr/bin/system-config-printer-kde", line 70, in

from smburi import SMBURI

ImportError: No module named smburi
For sure, the downgraded packages were missing something that apt was unable to
solve
automatically.
Any suggestion? Cheers and sorry for replying so late

Vale

Bug#503149: [kmail] The bug is still there

2010-02-22 Thread Valerio Passini
Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.3.4-2

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hi Lisandro,

I have simply tried to send to myself a patch as text using the standard
settings in kmail and seen that the bug is still there: indentation made
with tabs is changed in spaces. Aesthetically it looks the same, but
patch program doesn't agree. None confirmed this, but probably there are
not many people sending patches this way.
Upstream doesn't seem to be aware of this bug, despite the fact that
many developers dropped using kmail for this reason. Please, do you mind
to report it upstream if you have some spare time, because now I'm
really busy? Otherwise I will do it sometime in the near future.
Bye

Valerio

Bug#353354: kdelibs-bin: Communication problem between kded and avahi

2006-02-17 Thread Valerio Passini
Package: kdelibs-bin
Version: 4:3.5.1-2
Severity: important

Hi,

it's no more possible to access zeroconf resources using konqueror
zeroconf:/

The message reported in the shell is:
kio_zeroconf: WARNING: Failed to create avahi client

Another strange message is:
ASSERT: "!icon.isEmpty()" in /home/sid-user/kdebase/kdebase-3.5.1/./
but it doesn't seem related to this bug.
Bye

Bug#372564: kwalletmanager: Set the severity of this bug from important to grave

2006-06-20 Thread Valerio Passini
Package: kwalletmanager
Version: 3.5.3-1
Followup-For: Bug #372564

Hi,

when I logged out I experienced the same hanging of the system described
by others, but in a very unlucky case I've had my reiserfs compromised
because my PC was unable to completely shutdown and poweroff itself and
I needed to push the power button. The rest it's history.
I think that this system hangs during shutdown are very dangerous and
the bug needs to be fixed ASAP and the severity switched from important
to grave.
Bye

Valerio Passini
