Bug#730260: kalgebra: incorrect simplification of symbolic expressions
Ok, thanks for the explanation. The reason I reported it here was that I'm using KAlgebra 4.8 from Debian stable while the most recent upstream version of KAlgebra is 4.11. Maybe someone can test this on 4.11 and see if it's still there? Then I'll report it to the KDE devs! 2013/11/28, Lisandro Damián Nicanor Pérez Meyer : > tags 730260 upstream > thanks > > Hello, > > the bug you reported is a KDE bug. Bug#770840: ark: Ark crashes on exit when nested archives opened
Could Debian just remove the faulty patch upstream_remove_part_from_KXMLGUIFactory_on_exit and create 4.14.2-3? I have checked it and this patch actually introduces version 4.14.3 without naming it so, since it is the only difference in ark between 4.14.2 and 4.14.3. The upstream fix is just removal of this patch, so removing it from Debian package seems like the correct solution.

Bug#730260: kalgebra: incorrect simplification of symbolic expressions
Package: kalgebra Version: 4:4.8.4-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, I am experiencing very strange and incorrect simplifications of symbolic expressions which I enter in KAlgebra. For example, if I enter the expession "2-(x+2-2*x)", I would expect the expression to be simplified to "x". Instead, this is what happens: If I enter the above expression into the console, it is changed to "2-(x+2)-2*x" and the result is printed as "-x" (Which neither fits the original formula nor the modified one). If I enter the expression in the 2D Graph tab, the plot shows the graph of f(x) = -x -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages kalgebra depends on: ii kalgebra-common 4:4.8.4-1 ii kde-runtime 4:4.8.4-2 ii libanalitza4abi1 4:4.8.4-2 ii libanalitzagui4 4:4.8.4-2 ii libc6 2.13-38 ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 8.0.5-4+deb7u2 ii libglu1-mesa [libglu1]8.0.5-4+deb7u2 ii libkdecore5 4:4.8.4-4 ii libkdeui5 4:4.8.4-4 ii libkhtml5 4:4.8.4-4 ii libkio5 4:4.8.4-4 ii libkparts44:4.8.4-4 ii libqt4-opengl 4:4.8.2+dfsg-11 ii libqt4-xml4:4.8.2+dfsg-11 ii libqtcore44:4.8.2+dfsg-11 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.2+dfsg-11 ii libstdc++64.7.2-5 kalgebra recommends no packages. kalgebra suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
