I think this is a RC Bug! MSN support is fundamental for this cross
protocoll IM.

There's a bugfix available in the upstream version. You can find that at

Bug#758635: krdc: crash when trying to connect

2014-10-08 Thread Marcel Dischinger
Package: krdc
Version: 4:4.14.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #758635

I have the same problem with krdc, also with a Mac OS X VNC server.
I tried gvncviewer as an alternative and it has the same problem:

Fatal: failed to create the RNG lock: Invalid argument
FATAL: failed to acquire the FSM lock in libgrypt: Invalid argument

xtightvncviewer works though.

Using packages from sid.

Thanks,
Marcel

Bug#488871: Fix for Kopete

2008-07-10 Thread Marcel Dischinger
Package: kopete
Version: 4:3.5.7-4~bpo40+1
Followup-For: Bug #488871

There is actually also a source-code fix available here:
http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=25779&action=view

But the one Michael mentions will help without an updated package by
just editing a configuration file, so it is a quick workaround.

how to get started.

This problem is actually caused by gtk-qt-engine for KDE4.
Thus, this bug is a dub to Debian bug #537585 (and also reported
upstream).

Bug#394156: kopete: ICQ2go messages show an invalid character at the end of each message

2006-10-20 Thread Marcel Dischinger
Package: kopete
Version: 4:3.5.5-1
Severity: normal

When chatting with a user who uses ICQ2go (the ICQ.com webfrontend), an
invalide character is added after each message (showing up as a box
symbol in my chat window).

>From .xsession-errors:
"QDom: saving invalid character , the document will not be
well-formed"

Chatting with users using other ICQ clients works fine.
Also special characters (e.g. German Umlauts) are no problem.
This showed up after upgrading to KDE 3.5.5 from the previous etch
version (should be 3.5.4), thus might be a property of kopete 0.12.3.

Thanks.

Bug#564514: Fails to start up due to missing tables

2010-03-23 Thread Marcel Dischinger
Package: akonadi-server

Severity: normal

Hi,

I hit the same problem but was able to fix it following instructions on
http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi#Table_.27mysql._servers.27_doesn.27t_exist

I simply ran

   mysql_install_db --datadir=$HOME/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/

and the problems went away.
I am not sure why I had to do this andy why akonadi cannot do this when
running for the first time (I removed everything akonadi-related in
~/.local in an attempt to fix the problem).

Thanks,
Marcel

Bug#589610: phonon-backend-vlc: Backend does not play oggs in Amarok

2010-07-19 Thread Marcel Dischinger
Package: phonon-backend-vlc
Version: 0.0.1~git1+1b1ce593-1
Severity: important
Tags: experimental

For me, this backend does not play oggs in Amarok.
I cannot even add oggs to the playlist in Amarok, while this works fine
with the xine backend.
Even worse, when I have oggs in my playlist while using the xine backend
and then switch to the phonon backend, Amarok crashes when I apply the
change (vlc being the most prefered backend) in the phonon backend
selection.

vlc plays oggs just fine.

Bug#589610: Bug does not manifest for collection

2010-07-19 Thread Marcel Dischinger
Looking more into this issue, I discovered that oggs are played just
fine when they are part of the Amarok collection.

But oggs are not shown in the file browser (in the context pane of
Amarok) anymore with the vlc backend, but they are there with the xine
backend.

Thanks.

Bug#1033201: Cannot reproduce anymore

2025-04-18 Thread Marcel Dischinger
I tried to reproduce your problem (setting 20+ words to bold one after
the other using the keyboard shortcut after marking a word with the
mouse) on version 24.12.2 and failed.

Does the problem still occur to you?
Given the long time since you first filed the bug reports it is likely
that it has been fixed upstream since then.

If it still happens for you, can you be a bit more specific on how to
trigger it (even the size of the file you are editing might matter)?

The most recent version as a different folder set for backup file (see

believe this is the default). I do not know what the default was for 2.1.6.
