Bug#454327: kcontrol -- Doesn't purge all files after piuparts Install+Upgrade+Purge test

2007-12-04 Thread Kumar Appaiah
Package: kcontrol
Version: 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2
Severity: important
User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Usertags: piuparts-stable-upgrade piuparts-stable-upgrade-20071130

Hi!

I have been analyzing packages for the piuparts test, and have
observed that ~13 packages fail the piuparts because kcontrol
doesn't purge the some files.

The gzipped log of the piuparts run for kcontrol is
attached. The problem is that the process

Install Stable kcontrol -> upgrade to sid -> purge

seems to let the following files remain unremoved:

   /etc/hotplug not owned
   /etc/hotplug/usb not owned
   /etc/hotplug/usb/logitechmouse owned by: kcontrol
   /etc/hotplug/usb/logitechmouse.usermap owned by: kcontrol

Please consider fixing this bug, as it is a Lenny release
recommendation [1].

Thanks.

Kumar

Bug#455852: kdegraphics -- Please consider transitioning to libimlib2

2007-12-11 Thread Kumar Appaiah
Package: kdegraphics
Version: 4:3.5.8-2
Severity: important
User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Usertags: oldlibs oldlibs-imlib

Hi!

On behalf of the QA group, I have been looking at packages which are
blocking the removal of libraries currently in the section oldlibs,
and kdegraphics is one of them, depending on imlib. With the aim of
removing as many of the oldlibs as possible to pave the way for
gradual removal of imlib, I would request you to consider moving to
libimlib2 in order to allow for the removal of imlib from sid.

The ONLY binary package depending on imlib is kuickshow. I am hopeful
that it can be ported to imlib2 with not much difficulty.

Thanks.

Bug#541282: logging out locks the screen

2009-08-12 Thread Kumar Appaiah
Package: kdm
Version: 4:4.3.0-2
Severity: important

Dear KDE Maintainers,

Reliably, every time I log out of any Window manager, KDM freezes my
screen. In fact, even if I say log out and immediately hit Ctrl+Alt+F1
to switch to a virtual terminal, the virtual terminal view is frozen
as the logout occurs, and no amount of any keyboard presses recovers
control. However, processes still run in the background, and pressing
the power key on my machine shuts the system down (ACPI?).

Please tell me how to debug this problem further, so that I can find
out if it is some quirk on my machine or a general problem.

Thanks.

Kumar

Please let me know if additional information is needed.
