Bug#811461: libqtgui4: Blank windows with "non-default" users

2016-01-19 Thread linus . luessing
Package: libqtgui4
Version: 4:4.8.7+dfsg-5
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I'm currently having some issues with running Qt4 based applications:
I get a blank window when "su-ing" into another user and trying to
run various Qt based applications from there. This happens for
mumble, keepassx or electurm for me, for instance.

GTK based applications like eog, libreoffice, iceweasel or gedit run
fine from this alternative user.

Usually I grant display access rights to the alternative user via
"xhost +local:linus". However "sudo gksu -u linus mumble", too, just
gives me blank windows.

The X server runs within a VNC session, started by Xtightvnc. The
window manager within that X server is Xmonad.

Running Qt4 based applications via ssh X forwarding instead of VNC
works fine though. At least after granting the user "linus" read/write
access to ~/.Xauthority of the user that started
lightdm/Xtightvnc/Xmonad/... and setting a symlink from
/home/linus/.Xauthority to /home/$x-server-owner/.Xauthority.

Cheers, Linus

Bug#807379: kde-full: kdeinit, plasmashell crashes connected with libthread_db.so.1

2016-01-19 Thread Maciej Kotliński
The bug is still present and very annoying. I observed it for longer
period of time.

The first observation (and the way to reproduce) is:
-lock the screen without external display connected
-connect external display (I use 2 displays connected via VGA and
DisplayPort)

External displays start working.
Login/Lock screen disappears. I can see my desktop and all opened
windows (the password was not typed in!). The windows do not have title
bar but are responsive (you can scroll the text in editor etc.).
There is an error window telling that kdeinit5 has crashed. I can save
the file with some debuging info (attached). When I close this window
the X server restarts.
This is one of the most unpleasant scenarios - all opened apps are
killed with Xorg restart.

The other way to observe the crash:
After restarting Xorg with external monitor connected disconnect the
monitor (this time I use one monitor connected to DisplayPort). The
screen on the laptop is getting black with arrow. I have to restart Xorg
to do anything.

There is also many other crashes of Plasma, kdeinit5, kwin during normal
work (without connecting/disconnecting external displays).
The windows lose title bar after crashes of kwin. Kwin can be started
manually, than everything works fine until the next crash.

It looks like Plasma restarts after the crash. I only see the error message.

All packages are up to date (Debian testing).

It *was* fixed in git (hence the pending tag), it just was in experimental
branch and not in master. I've just cherry-picked it to master too.

Currently we have:

- libqt5xcbqpa5 for X11 (the default backend)
- qtwayland5 for Wayland

Dear Maintainer,

since the update to KDE5 environment I can't use the number-pad as input for
kcalc. The state of NUM-lock doesn't matter, typing on the number-pad just does
nothing. Normal keyboard works fine and other software gets input from the
number-pad as usual. The problem exists for kcalc in KDE- and XFCE-environment.

Regards

Günter

Bug#811296: Please close this bug

2016-01-19 Thread Carlos Kosloff
Unrelated to okular, there was a general sluggishness in kde, caused by
an incorrect network configuration.
This is what happened, in a dist-upgrade I saw that package ifupdown was
being held back and not upgraded.
Tried to force upgrade but it wanted to remove half the system, so I
passed.
Then I saw that there is another package in repo called ifupdown2, so I
installed that one, which removed ifupdown.

That is when the sluggishness started.
So I dist-upgraded today, purged ifupdown2, installed ifupdown without
problems, rebooted, and lo (pun intended) and behold, kde was back!

Dear maintainer,

This issue is very strange because I have laptop with similar
confiuration: amd64, kde, testing branch.
The failing computer has an nvidia graphic image, I just ran a
dist-upgrade, nvidia drivers were already the latest version in testing.

Okular takes forever to launch, and when it does it throws errors:

 Dear maintainer,

korganizer fails to launch, or launches defectively.
When attempting to launch from terminal throws following error:
ckosloff@crosshair:~$ korganizer
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before
QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.

Thank you.

The solution might come with Qt 5.6.

Control: tag -1 moreinfo

Do you see any strange messages in ~/.xsession-errors ?

I also don't fully understand what you do. For what I read I think you start
an X session by running Xtightvnc with user A and then you want to run some
Qt4 tool with user B, right?

Anyways Qt4 is in security fixes only mode, so I won't get help from upstream
to solve this.

If you can also try to see what happens with Qt5 apps.

Kinds regards, Lisandro.

Bug#811683: FTBFS with GCC 6: could not convert a from x to y

Package: kopete
Version: 4:15.08.3-1
Severity: important
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs-gcc-6 gcc-6-cannot-convert

This package fails to build with GCC 6. GCC 6 has not been released
yet, but it's expected that GCC 6 will become the default compiler for
stretch.

Note that only the first error is reported; there might be more. You
can find a snapshot of GCC 6 in experimental. To build with GCC 6,
you can set CC=gcc-6 CXX=g++-6 explicitly.

Bug#811895: kde4libs: FTBFS with GCC 6: misc errors

2016-01-19 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: kde4libs
Version: 4:4.14.14-1
Severity: important
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs-gcc-6 gcc-6-literal-suffixes

This package fails to build with GCC 6. GCC 6 has not been released
yet, but it's expected that GCC 6 will become the default compiler for
stretch.

Note that only the first error is reported; there might be more. You
can find a snapshot of GCC 6 in experimental. To build with GCC 6,
you can set CC=gcc-6 CXX=g++-6 explicitly.

You may be able to find out more about this issue at
https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-6/changes.html

Bug#812001: smokekde: FTBFS with GCC 6: deleted function

2016-01-19 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: smokekde
Version: 4:4.14.3-1
Severity: important
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs-gcc-6

This package fails to build with GCC 6. GCC 6 has not been released
yet, but it's expected that GCC 6 will become the default compiler for
stretch.

Note that only the first error is reported; there might be more. You
can find a snapshot of GCC 6 in experimental. To build with GCC 6,
you can set CC=gcc-6 CXX=g++-6 explicitly.

You may be able to find out more about this issue at
https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-6/changes.html
