Hi,

When copying a file between machines using e.g. konqueror or krusader
and a remote filesystem like sftp://, the file's modification date is
not preserved as it would be for a local copy.  This has been verified
at least using fish://, sftp:// and smb:// and in KDE version 3.3 as
well as 3.4.1.

Bug#312896: kdebase-kio-plugins: kio plugins does not report file modification date/time correctly

fish:// reports file timestamps as being 8 hours in the past, smb://
reports file timestamps as being 8 hours in the future.  Since my
timezone is Western Australian, i.e. GMT +0800, it appears that one is
incorrectly subtracting local time and one is incorrectly adding it.

The smb:// issue may well be a bug in libsmbclient.  I can reproduce
this problem KDE 3.3 and KDE 3.4.1, as well as GNOME.

The fish:// issue appears to be new in KDE 3.4.1.  KDE 3.3.1 returns
the date correctly.

When downloading files larger yhan 4GB (Sarge DVD 1 ISO image, for example), 
KGet reports an incorrect file size, 4GB less than real. So, I guess an 
unsigned 
int is not enough to hold the file size ;)

I don't know if the file downloads well anyway (I'm not going to download a 4GB 
file just to find out it hasn't downloaded correctly and I wasted my 
time/bandwidth!), 
but I suppose it doesn't.
