Hi Mike, Look like you made great work. I'm currently trying to compile you work under my heavily upgraded Ubuntu jaunty. Seems things goes well (some fixes to apply during compilation). Well, I have downloaded : http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/i/iceape/iceape_2.0.orig.tar.bz2 and http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/i/iceape/iceape_2.0-1.debian.tar.gz Put the 2 archives in same directory, then I extracted the 2 files like this : tar jxf iceape_2.0.orig.tar.bz2 cd iceape-2.0 tar zxf ../iceape_2.0-1.debian.tar.gz This end with the debian directory created inside the 1st archive root directory. After that, I 1st started the build like I do with all others : fakeroot debian/rules binary This end with the error in my 1st message And also tested the other way : dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot Ending with the error in my last mail ... That's where you were wrong ;) You should also get the dsc file, and use dpkg-source -x on it. Or apply the patches in debian/patches with quilt, but the dpkg-source -x approach is easier. Ok Mike, Packages are ok except a little trick I have to do, to be able to use my saved and encrypted passwords. At the first time of launching Iceape 2.0 it converted my profile. Then, after it say impossible to access security bla, bla, bla ... Looking with strace if found the problem was the impossibility to load 'libnssdbm3.so'. So, 5 seconds and a 'locate libnssdbm3.so' later ... I do : sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/nss/libnssdbm3.so /usr/lib/iceape/ Then TADA !!! Iceape start and ask immediatly the master password, after that it start with all things properly migrated ...
