Bug#645580: libgconf2-4: "gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256" on log in
Package: libgconf2-4 Version: 2.28.1-6 Severity: normal I get the error message: "There is a problem with the configuration server. (/usr/lib/libconf-2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)" every time I log into my computer. After I click "close" Gnome loads as normal. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (700, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libgconf2-4 depends on: ii gconf2-common 2.28.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libdbus-1-31.2.24-4+squeeze1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.88-2.1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.23-7.2OpenLDAP libraries ii liborbit2 1:2.14.18-0.1 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libxml22.7.8.dfsg-2+squeeze1 GNOME XML library libgconf2-4 recommends no packages. libgconf2-4 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#664233: pkg-config does not look in directory where a .pc file is present
Package: pkg-config Version: 0.25-1.1 Severity: normal With libpixman-1-dev installed we have: PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig pkg-config --cflags cairo # works /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig pkg-config --cflags cairo # does not work If you are reading this and you think 'what does she mean by 'does not work''. please do not work on this bug, but feel free to read what I mean by 'does not work below': pkg-config --cflags cairo Package pixman-1 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `pixman-1.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable Package 'pixman-1', required by 'cairo', not found Breaking properties like this results in software builds that don't work, so please fix this. Now, because you apparently don't have any idea how to build a working operating system here is a script to find all the current failures related to this issue: #!/bin/bash for package in $(pkg-config --list-all | awk '{ print $1 }'); do echo $package pkg-config --cflags $package done Have fun fixing all of them. Also, this issue isn't solved until all of them have been resolved. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (700, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=nl_NL.utf8, LC_CTYPE=nl_NL.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pkg-config depends on: ii libc6 2.11.3-2 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libpopt0 1.16-1 lib for parsing cmdline parameters pkg-config recommends no packages. pkg-config suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#669055: icedove: Icedove repeatedly downloads all headers
Package: icedove Version: 3.0.11-1+squeeze8 Severity: important Icedove redownloads all message headers for no good reason. Take a situation IMAP with 10 messages of which 9 are already on the client. Icedove happily starts downloading 10 messages, which makes an operation which should take 50ms (is there mail? Yes? Fetch new mail, put in database), in the order of minutes, which is thus 200 times slower than what is possible. At this rate, it would be faster to pick up the phone, hand dial the number, ask an operator to use the switch board to connect me to some place. In short, this is ridiculous. There are more people having this problem (multiple people on getsatisfaction.com). This problem has been known since at least 2010 and probably has existed forever. I also take suggestions for mail clients that do work, but they should be feature complete. If you say that Icedove in fact has been an elaborate joke, please explain the joke as it is beyond my comprehension. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (700, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages icedove depends on: ii debianutils 3.4Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii fontconfig2.8.0-2.1 generic font configuration library ii libasound21.0.23-2.1 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libatk1.0-0 1.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.11.3-2 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.10.2-7~bpo60+1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-4+squeeze1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libfontconfig12.8.0-2.1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.4.2-2.1+squeeze4 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.5-8 GCC support library ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.1-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libjpeg62 6b1-1 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libnspr4-0d 4.8.6-1NetScape Portable Runtime Library ii libnss3-1d3.12.8-1+squeeze4 Network Security Service libraries ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.3-1+squeeze2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-01.2.44-1+squeeze4 PNG library - runtime ii libsqlite3-0 3.7.9-3SQLite 3 shared library ii libstartup-notificati 0.10-1 library for program launch feedbac ii libstdc++64.4.5-8The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-4 X11 client-side library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.6-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt61:1.0.7-1 X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii psmisc22.11-1utilities that use the proc file s ii zlib1g1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages icedove recommends: ii myspell-en-us [myspell-dictio 1:3.2.1-2 English_american dictionary for my Versions of packages icedove suggests: ii libdbus-glib-1-20.88-2.1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libgconf2-4 2.28.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii libgnome2-0 2.30.0-1 The GNOME library - runtime files ii libgnomevfs2-0 1:2.24.3-1 GNOME Virtual File System (runtime ii libgssapi-krb5-21.8.3+dfsg-4squeeze5 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries - k ii ttf-lyx 1.6.7-1 TrueType versions of some TeX font -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#666387: okular: Printing support not exported via dbus
Package: okular Version: 4:4.4.5-2 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream Okular allows some of its functionality to be used via qdbus, except it is not possible to print via this interface.
