2011-10-16 Thread A Bug Reporter
Package: libgconf2-4
Version: 2.28.1-6
Severity: normal

I get the error message: "There is a problem with the configuration server.
(/usr/lib/libconf-2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)" every time
I log into my computer. After I click "close" Gnome loads as normal.

Bug#664233: pkg-config does not look in directory where a .pc file is present

2012-03-16 Thread A Bug Reporter
Package: pkg-config
Version: 0.25-1.1
Severity: normal

With libpixman-1-dev installed we have:
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig pkg-config --cflags cairo
# works
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig pkg-config --cflags cairo # does not
work

If you are reading this and you think 'what does she mean by 'does not
work''. please do not work on this bug, but feel free to read what I
mean by 'does not work below':

pkg-config --cflags cairo
Package pixman-1 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `pixman-1.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package 'pixman-1', required by 'cairo', not found

Breaking properties like this results in software builds that don't
work, so please fix this.

Now, because you apparently don't have any idea how to build a working
operating system here is a script to find all the current failures
related to this issue:

#!/bin/bash
for package in $(pkg-config --list-all | awk '{ print $1 }'); do
   echo $package
   pkg-config --cflags $package
done

Have fun fixing all of them. Also, this issue isn't solved until all of
them have been resolved.

Bug#669055: icedove: Icedove repeatedly downloads all headers

2012-04-16 Thread A Bug Reporter
Package: icedove
Version: 3.0.11-1+squeeze8
Severity: important

Icedove redownloads all message headers for no good reason.

Take a situation IMAP with 10 messages of which 9 are already on the
client. Icedove happily starts downloading 10 messages, which makes
an operation which should take 50ms (is there mail? Yes? Fetch new mail,
put in database), in the order of minutes, which is thus 200 times
slower than what is possible.

At this rate, it would be faster to pick up the phone, hand dial the
number, ask an operator to use the switch board to connect me to some
place.

In short, this is ridiculous. There are more people having this problem
(multiple people on getsatisfaction.com). This problem has been known
since at least 2010 and probably has existed forever.

I also take suggestions for mail clients that do work, but they should
be feature complete.

If you say that Icedove in fact has been an elaborate joke, please
explain the joke as it is beyond my comprehension.

Bug#666387: okular: Printing support not exported via dbus

2012-03-30 Thread A Bug Reporter
Package: okular
Version: 4:4.4.5-2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream

Okular allows some of its functionality to be used via qdbus, except it
is not possible to print via this interface. It would be useful to
either have a command line interface to print via okular and dbus is one
way in which this can be done.
