[Bug gold/6493] gold build failure with -Werror
--- Additional Comments From ian at airs dot com 2008-05-09 14:16 --- I assume you are using -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE, or that you have modified your libc so that it is defined by default. This sort of detail is helpful to mention in the bug report. In this case gold is correctly ignoring the result. I added some hacks so that it appears to use the result although it really doesn't. -- What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=6493 --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ___ bug-binutils mailing list bug-binutils@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-binutils

--- Additional Comments From me at cgf dot cx 2008-05-09 14:39 --- An archive does solve the problem but I don't think a thin archive would, would it? That still has to open each individual file, doesn't it? -- http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5990 --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ___ bug-binutils mailing list bug-binutils@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-binutils

--- Additional Comments From amodra at bigpond dot net dot au 2008-05-10 02:12 --- I think your log suffers from lack of stdout and stderr flushing. libnewt.so.0.52 is a red herring. The real problem occurs on objcopy --strip-unneeded -R .note -R .comment /lib/libpthread.so.0 Don't bother reducing it, libpthread.so isn't too large to attach to this bug report. -- http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=6494 --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ___ bug-binutils mailing list bug-binutils@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-binutils
