Yes, that patch would work, but I still think that the right-way-to-do-
it(tm) would be to use an async mutex, mainly because that can ensure
that no other yet-to-find race conditions can happen. Of course, I'm
talking about a patch for upstream.

solution, it would be great to have some public pointers for figuring
out a workaround.

they "resolve the executable symlink before creating the apparmor
Debian just enabled EFI_ZBOOT and the trick seems to be to install
arch/arm64/boot/vmlinuz.efi instead of arch/arm64/boot/Image:
