It's actually an issue with a number of keys that get bound to events.
Some of them are "special" and will not cause and trouble while others
like the dot can have a different meaning depending on context and you
will find that behaviour everywhere where global shortcuts are enabled.

BTW: as you're using the repertoir editor... Do you know about the masks
feature of the tree window? If so, why do you still use repertoir editor
and not masks? If not would you mind compare both functions? One idea is
actually to drop the repertoir editor for sake of the masks as there is
some opinion that masks are actually offering better functionality than
the repertoir editor. On the other hand if we have a definite usecase of
the latter I'll not drop it, of course. (In any case it will not go
immediately, but I'd set it to deprecated for the next release pointing
to the masks and drop it later on.) But I'd like to get some opinions on
both features first. You can access the masks feature from the tree
window of a database.
