I'm just surprised about the way you guys reject this small request.
I'm using Scid since Shanes Hudson times, and seriously I think you have
added a lot of functionality to the program.
It's not about if it's easy or difficult to hit ctrl+s at the end of a
game, it's about giving the user the chance to choose if he wants to do
that, or if he just want to have that in autosave mode.
I think that if we want to spread the use of this wonderful program we
need to make it more user friendly.
Many of my friend whom I encourage to use Scid asked me for this feature.
Please consider that the leading chess software programs includes this
simple option (Fritz, for example, even autosave any kind of game,
computer or internet games), these companies , even if they are
commercial or not, perform a deep investigation of the user request and
they agree to include an autosave option, so I think that my proposal
it's not just a stupid request after all.
As I said, a simple check box asking if you want to autosave fics games,
and if you answer yes, then choose a path to a database it's all about it.
Even Eboard, and Knights have this useful option!!
So, if I suggest the options to make engines match, or engines
tournaments, you guys probably kill me?
Peace to all, it's just an observation and if you think I'm wrong,
please let me know, I`m not so proud to not admit when I'm wrong about
something....

You mean avoiding [ctrl-s] - [ENTER] at the end of the game?

Pascal, if there's some decent notification from FICS "this game has
ended" I think it would be just some "sc_game save". Probably worth
consideration.
No, not everybody wants to save every game, and I don't want to add an
option for FICS auto-saving. It is so easy to hit Ctrl-s that I don't
bother doing this.
