Is this really specified on 7bit? Anyway, it handles UTF
nicely, that is I can read it in. Some handling is necessary
here in any case, ie. it seems to be required to allow for
utf here, I fear.

Nope. It is within the DB. Also displays there in utf. As I
already wrote it workes perfectly in the PGN window. It just
does not show up correctly in the main status area and, well
in the correspondence window it is broken as well. The same
happens in the game list and so on. So it seems to be a
problem in "sc_game get"

Can you specify a bit? What means "tricky" in this
set White [sc_game tags get White]
set Black [sc_game tags get Black]
context?
