And I wanted to clarify a thing about non-directly derived works.

If someone is using my tool to develop their own software, I'm not supposed to
demand it to be placed under the GPL as well. Right? 

In file avl/empty.cry there is this notice:

#This file is in public domain.
#Don't forget to edit this notice to reflect your copyright and license.
#It will be transferred as is to C files generated from it.

Is this correct?
