Not unless you give us a lot more information.

What command are you typing in to get this error?

Is your CDROM drive IDE or SCSI?

When you type in "lsmod", do you see entries for "ide-scsi" and "ide-cd"?

How many hard drives do you have in your system?

Can you send the contents of /proc/scsi/scsi to us?

Can you send the contents of /etc/fstab to us?
