Hello David, I think you are misunderstanding thing here. Let me explain:

I cant remember it being in 7.3, I am guess it was new to > 8.0. The up2date system is much older than that. It already existed in the 6.x versions (at least in 6.2). > I also think a lot of people will start looking to some other > distro. I know i cant do with waiting 9 months for security updates, > thats worst than Microsoft. This is a misunderstanding: you will get security updates immediately. The point is that there will be no new security updates after a certain date (depending on the RedHat version). > I think in today's world, security is becoming very important! It is already very important, and it will probably only get more important in the future. > Is there an announcement mailing list any where. You can keep running 8.0 until at least December 31, 2003. After this date, no new bugfixes will be released for 8.0. You can still run 8.0 then ofcourse, only without support from RedHat. I hope this clears it up for you, Sander. -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
