Thanks guys, I'll give it a try when I get home tonight. I have
recently added a 100GB disk, and the partitions are no longer in the
sam places they used to be. It all worked fine, but I deleted one of
the old (now empty) partitions to install windows. Now, under the
rescue option, if I do a "fdisk /dev/hda" it tells me it's not there.
The directories "/, /boot, /etc" and some others are on there. My
/usr directory and /homes are on the new disk. I can mount up usr as
something else (or even as /usr), but then that seems to break
things. It seems I tried running lilo & it didn't find it for some
reason. I will try again. What is the path to lilo, in case it is
broken?

Thanks,
        Tom

IIRC, the RedHat CD in rescue mode attempts to mount your linux
partitions automagically.

It's enough to do lilo -r /mnt/tmp. That way you don't lose the root
filesystem in your rescue environment.

What partitions do you have on your hard disk!

*Why*?

Don't let us guess. The rescue option of CD #1 was created for cases
like this.
