here is what i get using /sbin/parted : 

Information: the OS thinks the geometry on /dev/sda is 14946/255/63. 
Therefore, the cylinder 1024 ends at 8032.499M.

now, i don't know where to get the information for the block size, 
but as i made the partition using WinXP, 
i chose to take the default block size for FAT32. 
thereafter, i let the program running .....
